Date Set for EfM Preview and Registration Meetings

 Join Education for Ministry mentor Robert Brown in the Parish House on Sunday, August 23 after the 8 and 10 a.m. worship services for a preview and informational meeting about the EfM program. An overview of the program, including history, structure of the seminar, and seminar group life will be presented, along with study materials, texts and registration materials. Grab some coffee and a snack and join us for a group preview of a wonderful vehicle of Christian formation. |

Mark Your Calendars for Fall Dates at All Saints
|
 Fall brings so many exciting things...college football, seasonal delicacies (mmm...pumpkin spice lattes), and a full calendar of events at All Saints!
All Saints clergy, staff, and leadership have been busy the past month planning a number of wonderful events that will begin in the Fall. Stay tuned for more information on the upcoming Episcopal 101 classes and Adult Formation, Newcomers Reception, Blessing of the Animals, All Saint's Day, Advent Family Workshop, and St. Nicholas Day to name a few! This exciting season will begin with Homecoming Sunday on September 13th. We will rejoice in "coming home" after a summer or rest, relaxation, and adventure, and prepare ourselves and our families for the rhythm of life that accompanies a new school year, the back-to-work routine, and the flow of our liturgical calendar. On Homecoming Sunday our entire parish family will worship together and we will commission the Preschool and Sunday School teachers, and say a prayer for all our students beginning the new school year. Another important event in our life at All Saints will be Rev. Aimee Eyer-Delevett's installation as Rector. This is set for Saturday, October 3rd, at 10 a.m. with The Rt. Rev. Mary Glasspool presiding. A festive reception will follow. More details on all of the upcoming events will follow in the coming weeks. |

There is something incredibly powerful about traveling the paths of Jesus and his disciples that can be life changing for you, as it has been for so many others. All Saints Help Ensure Students

  All Saints' parishioners gathered with parishioners from M-4 churches for a summer project to provide backpacks stuffed with critical supplies for school success to local children in need is just around the corner. All hands were on deck at Montecito Covenant as more than 300 backpacks were equipped with essential school supplies (all purchased through generous donations from all churches) for children living in People's Self Help Housing and Dalia Court. Thank you to all who shared their morning in the service of those in need and to our friends in Christ at Montecito Covenant for being such gracious hosts! |

Raise Your Voice In Song! Join the Choir!

All Saints' Choir begins a new season in September. All are welcome to join us, as we begin a new year of leading the church's song in worship. Choir rehearses on Thursday evenings from 7-9 p.m. in the church. Join us as we kick off the season by singing for the first time during our homecoming service, September 13 at 10 a.m.

Help Replenish Our Kitchens!

 The kitchens at All Saints need some replenishing - will you help? The Wish List includes: Serving spoons, large forks, salad prongs, egg slicer, small sharp knives, serving bowls (all sizes, very big to small), spatulas, plastic freezer bags, plastic freezer containers, measuring cups, serving trays for cookies, salt and pepper shakers, graters, peelers, can opener, and colanders. All Saints' Summer Arts in Liturgy

Each summer, our 10:00 worship services are filled with music and liturgical language that is unique, and emphasizes a particular context. This summer, we explore the variety of music published by the Episcopal Church.
Did you know, our Church publishes 5 music publications for worship? Like our familiar 1982 Hymnal, each has its own musical personality that reflects a unique context and culture.
In your bulletin, we'll note the source of each of the musical pieces not found in the '82 Hymnal and a brief description of each of those sources.
Let's enjoy some variety this summer, as we sing a broad selection of the music of the Episcopal Church!

Do Something Different This Summer for Community Service Hours!

From the moment we are baptized, we are called to ministry - to serve God and others. Here are some great opportunities for the younger members (under 18) of Christ to serve God and our community:
- Serve lunch at Casa Esperanza homeless center in Santa Barbara Tuesday, August 25
- Serve dinner to Isla Vista homeless Monday, August 31
- Distribute free fruit and veggies in Carp Wednesday, August 26

Outreach Awards More Than $31,000 in Grants
|
Organized outreach efforts at All Saints are guided by teh Outreach Committee. The committee engages parishiones in hands-on ministries and awards grants to deserving organizations throughout the greater Santa Barbara community and beyond. Funding for Outreach comes from teh All Saints operating budget as well as various fundraising activities, such as the annual golf tournament. So far this year, the following organizations have been awarded grants:
- Casa Esperanza Homeless Shelter - $3,000
- Casa Serena - $5,000
- DFMS (Ellen Sandin missionary) - $5,000
- Episcopal Relief & Development - $2,375
- Family Services Agency - $2,000
- Foodbank SB County - $3,000
- Mental Wellness Center - $3,000
- Network for Africa - $2,950
- World Dance for Humanity - $3,000

For years, the Twa people have dreamed of being real farmers, which means having cows to care for. The milk and manure the cows produce will be a tremendous resource for the whole community to share. The calves they give birth to will start them on the road to a productive farming enterprise and sustainable livelihood. Thanks to All Saints' Outreach, cows Betsy, Grace & Holy Cow are now members of the Twa family.
