This Sunday's Readings:
July 10, 2015
Greetings!
All Saints' Pipe Organ Under Repair

If you've been in worship the past couple of Sundays, you've noticed something missing - organ music!  Our aging instrument stopped playing 2 weeks ago due to a malfunction in its electronic master board.  Help is on the way, though. The worn out part has been sent to the manufacturer and is under repair.  Our organ technician predicts that the instrument will be back in action within the next 2 weeks. In the meantime, we'll have a unique opportunity to worship supported by our concert quality piano, an instrument we are very blessed to own!  Here's an idea: why not sing with extra gusto this Sunday??  You'll be glad you did!!

Holy Happenings

What are Holy Happenings? Holy Happenings are events around town linking parishioners with the larger world of faith and justice:

ASBTS Holy Happenings/Holy Landers planning meeting
For all who are interested in the Holy Land, please come
Sunday, July 26 between services to the Youth Room in the Parish House. Our goal will be to plan an event for the fall: a book group, a Wednesday evening speaker, or something new. Bring your ideas!

Upcoming Pilgrimage with Diocese:
Join Lutheran Bishop Guy Erwin and Episcopal tour organizer Canon Jim Newman in the Holy Land!  There is something incredibly powerful about traveling the paths of Jesus and his disciples that can be life changing for you, as it has been for so many others. Imagine...Bethlehem, Nazareth and Jerusalem, the Mount of Olives, the Garden of Gethsemane, the Jordan River, and the mysterious stone city of Petra ... the sights, the sounds, the smells and the tastes will remain in your memory as you cherish the moments you spend with your fellow pilgrims. We are looking forward to sharing this journey of a lifetime with you. Space is limited, so it will be necessary for you to send in your reservation form and deposit as soon as possible. The trip will depart from Los Angeles on Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015, and return on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016 - an eleven-day tour. The cost from Los Angeles is $4148 ($3,343 + $805 in government taxes & airline fuel surcharges). For more information contact Canon Jim Newman at 310.391.5522, 888.802.6722 (toll-free) or [email protected] brochure can be downloaded here.

Sunday School - Let's Get Baking!

All Saints' Special Summer Sunday School program continues this week through the end of the month. Please meet in the Parish House Kitchen at 10:00 a.m. and come prepared to do some baking! We'll support our hospitality and feeding ministries by baking cookies for coffee hour and for our friends at Transition House.

All Saints' Summer Sunday School Program began on June 21, and will continue through the end of July. Instead of separate classes, the children will meet together for special projects centered on God's Good Creation. Click here for more details. All ages are asked to meet in the Parish House at 10am. Nursery will be open for children 3 and under, and as always, children are welcome in church!

All Saints Book Club Meets Monday, July 13

The All Saints Book Club will meet Monday, July 13 at 6 p.m. in the Parish House to discuss New York Times Bestseller The Fifth Gospel by Ian Caldwell. A lost gospel, a contentious relic, and a dying pope's final wish converge to send two brothers - both Vatican priests - on an intellectual quest to untangle Christianity's greatest historical mystery. Everyone is invited to join in fellowship, potluck dinner, and discussion! Contact the Rev. Vicki with questions: [email protected]. Happy reading!

Save the Date & Plan to Serve:

July 25 M-4 Half Day of Service

The M-4 (Montecito 4) Churches are pleased to announce the summer service project - providing backpacks stuffed with critical supplies for school success to local children in need. These children are living in People's Self Help Housing communities and rely on these learning tools. Together with the other M-4 Churches, our goal is to provide backpacks and supplies to 310 children.

On Saturday, July 25 Montecito Covenant will host our M-4 day of service from 10am-Noon where we will stuff the backpacks. Volunteers are needed for this day and donations are greatly needed, as each church as been asked to raise $3,500 for this project. A donation of $45 will give one child a backpack and the majority of supplies needed to have a successful start to the school year. Please consider giving the gift of a backpack or two to help a child in need have the tools to succeed in school. Please note "M-4 Backpack Project" in the memo of your check and drop it in the Offertory plate or send it to the Church Office.
