December 5, 2014
Greetings!

Our Christmas Eve Community Choir will begin rehearsals this Sunday, December 7 at 8:15 a.m. in the Parish Hall. We are delighted that so many of our parishioners have committed to sing on Christmas Eve! If you would like to join - there is still time. Even if you haven't spoken with Steve yet, all you need to do is show up Sunday morning! We will have three Sunday morning rehearsals: Dec 7, Dec 14 and 21 at 8:15 a.m. in the Parish Hall. Each rehearsal will last about 45 minutes. Everyone is welcome; just come to
rehearsals! Questions? Contact Steve O'Connor

Rev. Aimee Joins Us This Sunday!

This Sunday, December 7 will be The Rev. Aime Eyer-Delevett's first Sunday as Rector of All Saints! We are so blessed to have her with us and she will be preaching at both worship services. A special welcome to Alyson and Willa as well!

In All Saints' fashion, everyone is invited to join together on the patio after both services for a festive welcome reception to meet the Eyer-Delevett family. We look forward to seeing you all on the patio!

Acolytes & Thurifer Needed for Christmas!
We are in need of acolytes and a thurifer for the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services. It is a great experience - especially during these special services. Please contact the Church Office at 969-4771 if you are available to help.
Requiescat in pace
Walter Potter

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m.

Rest eternal, grant unto him O Lord,
and let light perpetual shine upon him.
Christmas Pageant, Sunday December 14
This year's Christmas Pageant will take place at 10 a.m. Sunday, December 14. Please join us for this festive tradition and cheer on our wonderful children! All Saints Parish School preschoolers will join in an angelic chorus.
All Saints Christmas Pageant cast members, parents and crew are reminded that you will have rehearsal this Sunday during Family Feast time (all classrooms please meet in the Parish Hall) with a pizza party. The final rehearsal is from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, December 13.Contact Rev. Vicki with any questions.
All Saints Giving Tree -
Help Brighten A Christmas

The All Saints Giving Tree kickoff this past Sunday was most gratifying with many parishioners selecting tags off the tree. Now we need a final push to fulfill our commitment to Cleveland School, Noah's Anchorage and Victoria Hotel. Our most immediate need is the Cleveland School children (many need restaurant gift certificates as they rely on free breakfast and lunch during the school week with little to nothing to eat on the weekends). We have 19 of these tags left that need fulfilling by December 10 - please help if you can. The tree is available on the patio after Sunday services and in the Church Office during the week. Click here to learn more about this important outreach effort. Contact Susan Evans, 969-1380 or David Boyd, 969-2710 with any questions.

Tour and Tea at Casa del Herrero, December 19

There is still room on our Friday, December 19 tour of Casa del Herrero. We will meet at ASBTS at 1:15 pm and carpool to Casa del Herrero for a tour; docents Sally Green and Lore Dobler will be our guides. A Christmas tea will follow our tour. Sign-up forms are at the Information Table. Price $48/person. Please contact Rev. Vicki with any questions
Introducing All Saints Dinner Clubs!

Dinner Clubs are coming to All Saints! Everyone is invited to sign up! It's a fun way to meet new friends and develop deep, meaningful relationships with fellow parishioners. Dinner Clubs will be grouped together for a four-month session starting in January during which they will meet at least twice for dinner and fellowship. Once the session is over, new groups will be formed for another four-month session. Sign up at the Information Table after service this Sunday. Find Sally Messerlian, Pamela Hawes, Alex Williams, or Heather Childress for more information.

Book Table Open Through Advent

The Book Table will be up and open this Sunday after both worship services and will be open each Sunday through Advent. Please stop by to find wonderful gift ideas for all ages - including All Saints' first official Christmas card! Begin Advent and the new liturgical year with meaningful gifts for family and friends or purchases for your devotional library.

St. Nick and All Saints-by-the-Sea

Your help is needed to green the church on Wednesday, December 17 after the Eventide service. Our Young Professional parishioners are especially encouraged to lend a helping hand on this evening. This is also a great event for anyone who is new to All Saints - come make new friends while we prepare for Christmas! No experience is necessary, but practical & comfortable shoes are. Please contact the Church Office at 969-4771 if you can help. A HUGE THANK YOU to Andy Rosenberger for being our greening captain for this event!
Join Us for Christmas Lunch!

Couples, singles, and families, if you find that you will be on your own for Christmas lunch, please consider joining the All Saints family for a festive meal at 11:30 a.m. following the Christmas Day worship service at 10:30 a.m. The church will be ordering the entree and we invite you to bring the rest. We will need appetizers, salads, Christmas side dishes, desserts, wines and waters. A sign-up sheet will be available on the Information Table after church. We need to have an accurate count for the day and an indication of what you wish to bring. For those who would like to "party on" after lunch, we will have rousing board games to play. Questions? Contact The Rev. Vicki Mouradian
.

Lessons & Carols Services

All Saints - Sunday, December 7: During Advent "Lessons & Carols" service at the 10:00 a.m. worship service, we will listen to scripture lessons, which recount the fall, the promise of a Messiah and the incarnation. Each lesson is followed by a carol or choir anthem that reflects the lesson's message.

St. Michael's - Sunday, December 7: A 7:30 p.m. Lessons & Carols service will be held at St. Michael's University Church in Isla Vista. A mighty combined choir from area Episcopal churches will lead us in traditional hymns, culminating in a stirring rendition of Handel's Messiah. Sweets will be served following the service. St. Michael's is on the corner of Camino Pescadero and El Greco Road.
