This is it... the week for which we have all been waiting and preparing. It is Holy Week throughout the Church, and right here at All Saints. More than any other period of time in the year, it is this week which defines us, and shapes us, and informs us as Christians. It is the entire story of Christian salvation history, all rolled up into a one-week timeframe.

We invite you to enter in to this great drama throughout the week, as we explore not only all of the events of Jesus' final week, but also the ways in which those events continue to move us, and inspire us, and change us.

Father Bob

Interim Rector

Final Lent Adult Christian Formation Class Tonight
Tonight - Wednesday - is the final Lenten Formation class; plan to come even if it's your first session!  Taking place after Eventide worship and supper at 7:15 p.m. in the Parish House, we will study the powerful story of Holy Week as told in the four gospels.  Passages of scripture are presented via DVD.  Discussion will follow led by the Rev. Vicki Mouradian and parishioner Jaque Reed.  Questions?  Please email the Rev. Vicki or call her at the Church Office: 805-969-4771.

Lent Madness: The Race for the Golden Halo

11:30 a.m.    Sunday    April 27

The race continues for the Golden Halo! The Faithful Four of Lent Madness are almost confirmed! We are narrowing the race very quickly to the final match for that most coveted saintly award, The Golden Halo. Who will win it? Only heaven knows at this point, but tensions and curiosity are mounting.

Join us for the final victory party to toast the winner of this prestigious award on Sunday, April 27 during Coffee Hour in the Parish House. We will feast on cake and champagne and have a group photo taken before the Lent Madness brackets poster. This is a party not to miss!

Book Club Chooses A Classic For Next Reading
Monday    May 12    6 p.m.

"Death Comes for the Archbishop" is a 1927 novel by Willa Cather. It tells the story of the attempts by a Catholic bishop and a priest to establish a diocese in New Mexico Territory. The novel was included on Time's 100 Best English-language novels from 1923 to 2005 and Modern Library's list of the 100 best English-language novels of the 20th century, and was chosen by the Western Writers of America to be the 7th-best "Western Novel" of the 20th century.

You'll not want to miss out on reading this great novel or the Book Club discussion (or the themed potluck that has become legend already)!  Check with Rev. Vicki via email for more information, and pick up a copy soon.

Election Workers Still Needed

Tuesday    June 3

A number of parishioners have already volunteered, but a few more workers are needed to staff the two precincts at the St. Mike's chapel for the Tuesday, June 3 election and donate their stipends to benefit St. Mike's. Please pick up a flyer and sign up at the Information Table on Sunday.

All Saints' History Coming to the Website!
All Saints' recent focus on updating our online presence is yielding the unexpected benefit of bringing some of our archives to life. We are digitizing old Annual Reports and posting them on the website. In addition, we now have nearly 60 photo albums with thousands of photos from the past several years uploaded to our Flickr photo stream. Check them out by clicking here!  And don't be surprised if you happen to glimpse a photo of you or a member of your family!

The Outreach Golf Tournament Needs You!
Monday    May 5

More than 50 golfers have already signed up to take part in the Annual Jim Bower Community Outreach Golf Tournament, but we still need players: singles, doubles, threesomes, and foursomes are all invited and if you don't play, we still need volunteers for the day of the tournament, Monday, May 5 (no knowledge of golf is necessary.)

We are well on our way of meeting the matching grant of $12,500, generously given by the Bower Foundation.  This grant means that your donation dollars go twice as far.  Any size donation is welcome, so please consider donating to help us meet our target.  Parishioners, family and friends of players can join us for the celebration after the tournament (4 p.m.) at the La Cumbre Country Club for $20.  Please click here for more information on the tournament or contact Mary Rosenberger to sign up to play.
