Volunteer Outreach

Diocese of LA

Greetings!,

The Church Office will be closed Monday, January 20, in observance of the national holiday to honor civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This means that no Bible & Babble meeting will be held that day.
Enjoy the holiday, as we remember the man who reminded us that: "Faith is taking the first step, even when you don't see the whole staircase."

Milestone Reached in Rector Search

The Diocese of Los Angeles has a rigorous and broad-based process for assisting parishes in their discernment of a rector, which the All Saints Profile Committee, Discernment Committee and Vestry have been navigating for the past year.

As part of that process, All Saints was required to develop a one-page summary of the now-complete Parish Profile, as well as an eight-page Community Ministry Portfolio. This document contains information about All Saints and the position being offered, as well as eight short essays on various aspects of All Saints' mission and ministries, largely drawn from the Parish Profile. These documents have been lodged with the Diocesan Office of Transition Ministry, which has uploaded them onto the national church's Positions Open Bulletin, where it will be available to clergy nationwide. Both documents are available at asbts.org.

Fifteen ordained priests have contacted the Office of Transition Ministry in the past few months. The national church posting is already generating interest. March 1 has been set as the deadline for applications to become the next Rector. Anyone with questions or who would like more information, contact Denny Bacon or Andy Rosenberger, Discernment Committee co-chairs.

Flower Donations Needed for High Altar and Chapel

Parishioners are invited to make donations for flowers on the high altar and chapel during the coming year. The donor name and dedication are published each week in "Read All About It."

After the Sunday services, the flowers are made into bouquets and delivered to parishioners. Please consult the flower board on the patio on Sunday, or call the Church Office to find available dates to sign up. Donations pay for the beautiful flowers the congregation enjoys every week. Please help by signing up for a Sunday.

Wise Women Discuss 'Spiritual Tool Box' January 26

She will speak on this topic, followed by discussion at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 26 in the Parish Hall. For more information, call her at 969-4771, ext. 110.
