Discussion of Holiday Depression is Tonight

7:15 p.m.   Wednesday    December 4

With the holidays fully upon us, why is it that during this season too many people experience sadness, loneliness and depression instead of joy? We invite you to a special conversation, "Coping with the Holidays," facilitated by Dr. Gordon Hess, to reflect on the challenges that so many people experience this time of year. The discussion will be from 7:15 to 8:30 tonight, Wednesday, December 4, in the Parish House.

'Lessons & Carols' and Other Christmas Services

All Saints' annual service of "Lessons & Carols" is planned for 10 a.m. Sunday, December 8.

The choir and musicians will provide this traditional worship experience in which we listen to Scripture lessons, which recount the Fall, the promise of a Messiah and the Incarnation. Each lesson is followed by a carol or choir anthem that reflects the lesson's message.

We'll explore the meaning of Advent and the liturgical activities that we celebrate during this season of expectation.

Volunteers Still Needed for 'Greening of the Church'

12:30 p.m.     Saturday    December 14

Volunteers still are being sought to help with the December 14 "Greening of the Church" and especially to aid the clean-up effort afterward. Pine boughs will be brought in and placed around the inside of the church to give it that holiday feel. Volunteers are invited to a chili lunch at noon, after which we will get started. Contact the Church Office at (805) 969-4771 to sign up.

Annual Old English Dickens Holiday Feast Planned

Join us at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday December 18 in the Parish Hall, for our annual Old English Holiday Feast.  Choose Which Book to Discuss by December 16

6 p.m.    Monday    January 14

The All Saints Book Group will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, January 14, in the Parish House. Consider one of the two suggested books to discuss: "Zealot: The Life Times of Jesus of Nazareth" by Reza Aslan, Ph.D., and "Proof of Heaven" by Dr. Raymond A. Moody Jr. Respond to Rev. Vicki by Monday, December 16, with your choice and she will inform you of the most selected title. For more information, e-mail or call the Rev. Vicki  (805) 969-4771, ext. 110.

Monday Bible & Babble Meetings on Hiatus

Because of the crush of Advent season events, the regular Monday meetings of the Bible and Babble group will be on hiatus until January 6. For more information, e-mail or call the Rev. Vicki  (805) 969-4771, ext. 110.

Christmas Dinner Offered After December 25 Service

11:30 a.m.     Wednesday    December 25

Singles, couples and families: If you find that you will be on your own for Christmas dinner, consider joining the All Saints family for a festive meal at 11:30 a.m. following the Christmas Day worship service at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 25. The church will order turkey, stuffing and gravy and we invite you to bring the rest. We will need appetizers, salads, Christmas side dishes, desserts, wines and waters. A sign-up sheet will be available on the Information Table on Sunday. An accurate count for the day is needed and an indication of what you wish to bring would be helpful. For those who would like to "party on" after dinner, we will have rousing board games to play. For more information, contact the Rev. Vicki Mouradian or at the Church Office, (805) 969-4771, ext. 110.
