With this being the 50th anniversary of the Shelby Mustang and the 50th anniversary of the Daytona Cobra Coupe's World FIA Championship, it's been a busy summer with most activities revolving around those cars. We did however get in some good Datsun time at the Monterey Historics. Our display was focused on our Aerovault trailers and helpers included Z expert Mark Lambert and BRE Tribute 240Z car owner Randy Jaffe. Lots of good Datsun conversation was had.
We got some great time in with the Champion #46 BRE Datsun 510 at the Saratoga, NY Concours in support of "Peter Brock Designs" being the feature at the event. A big thanks to Nissan for providing the car to a very appreciative audience.
In our "spare" time we also moved the BRE office/shop. The building directly across from the Aerovault manufacturing facility became available and we quickly took advantage of it. What a convenience it has been! Details on location are below.
Probably the biggest news about our move are the collectibles we've decided to let go of. We provide details below.
With the completion of our own BRE Tribute 240Z last year we decided to design a higher performance rear spoiler than the original spoiler we've always offered. Offering it has actually been delayed because word got out about it before we had time to post them and we ran out of inventory before we could even announce they were available. We now have them in stock again. Details are below.
We also provide a model update below which includes Revell just coming out with a model kit of the Championship BRE 240Z. The detail is impressive and the box worthy of display.
Details below!

Let's Start with Impressive Revell 240Z Model Kit
The best part may be the box!
|

Illustrated instructions come with this model that contains 105 highly detailed plastic pieces and features a detailed 6-cylinder racing engine, vinyl oil lines, front and rear spoilers and soft black tires. The Beautiful Saratoga Concours
Event features Championship #46 BRE Datsun 510
|
Surrounded by amazing custom coachwork cars from the first half of the last century, the BRE Datsun 510 was a real standout. On both Saturday and Sunday, crowds gathered when Brock was given a microphone and he walked around the cars in the Peter Brock Design display area. Brock is seen here (arrow is pointing at Brock in photo below right) talking about the amazing history of the 510. Thanks go to Nissan for providing this special Championship BRE car from their collection for the Concours. In addition to the show it was also on display in the museum, front and center, for a few weeks before and after the show.
The Saratoga Automobile Museum leverages their beautiful event grounds not only for the Concours Sunday but also a fan day Saturday. These two beautiful 240Zs (below) showed up and had fun taking advantage of an impromptu photo opp with Brock.
Another fun part of the event was meeting the Keno brothers (think Antiques Roadshow) at the Saturday night dinner. Read more about that below.

BRE Moves!
Even more convenient to Vegas/Henderson freeways
|
Though BRE and Aerovault were only 1.9 miles apart from each other, we were easily going through 2 to 3 tanks of gas a week running between them. Then the tenant in the building next to Aerovault walked into Aerovault one day and asked if we were interested in any of their fixtures as they were closing and needed to move everything out.
Gayle was on the phone to our realtor within minutes. Get us into that building! Not even the owner of the building knew their tenants weren't extending their lease when we contacted them. Timing was perfect as BRE's lease was expiring at the building we'd been in since moving here in 2011. Aerovault and BRE are now next to each other, even sharing parking lots.
BRE's new address is 779 Middlegate Rd, Henderson, NV 89011 (Aerovault is 781 Middlegate). All other contact info remains the same (phone number, website, e-mail addresses). If you're familiar with the area you take the Galleria exit off I-515. Go East about 1/2 mile and turn right onto Middlegate Rd (right across from the Cowa-Bunga waterpark). We are the second and third buildings on the right.

BRE Collectibles
Letting go of some of our special mementos
|
Packing up everything and moving BRE has had us thinking it's probably best to be proactive to ensure our treasures go to worthy homes after BRE. And maybe we could even pay for the move by doing so! Not having a clue as to what these items are worth, we're auctioning a few of them on ebay.
The first item is this very, very special BRE Team Signed Calendar. In 2009 the BRE team came together for their first ever reunion (there have only been two BRE reunions). Peter Brock asked the team to sign this wall calendar for BRE (the calendar also includes some great full-size BRE archive images for each month). The calendar is signed by Peter Brock, Floyd Link (now deceased), Kirk Allegro, John Caldwell, Trevor Harris, John Morton, Mac Tilton, Joey Cavaglieri, Jeff Schoolfield and Bruce Burness. The auction on ebay is scheduled to end Wednesday at 7pm Pacific time. You can go here to watch/bid on this item that holds such special meaning to us.

Keno Brothers
A chance meeting has evolved into some cool activities
|
Brock was the featured speaker at the Saratoga Concours' Saturday night dinner, sharing his experiences in the automotive industry. We met some interesting car enthusiasts and collectors, including the energetic Keno Brothers.
They are publicly known primarily for their expertise in the antique furniture market. We were surprised to hear of their extensive interest and activities in the vintage automotive industry. This chance meeting has resulted in Brock will be a featured speaker at their Automotive Symposium in New York on November 18th and at their auction on the 19th. You can find details of the Rolling Sculpture auction here.
And while on their website, be sure to take the time to go into "The Brothers" section here. These guys have a really interesting history with automobiles. Amazing we haven't run into each other before.

New Peter Brock Designed 240Z Spoiler
Brock couldn't resist spicing up BRE's Tribute 240Z
|
When BRE created their own BRE Tribute 240Z, Peter Brock couldn't help himself and had to design a new and improved rear spoiler. This new BRE spoiler is designed with slightly more height and width than the original to add increased downforce for track action. It also looks pretty sweet for any Tribute car as it extends out perfectly to the edges of the upper paint color as seen on BRE's 240Z Tribute car here. We show a comparison photo here with the new spoiler on the BRE Z in the top photo and the BRE Z in the bottom photo having the original spoiler installed. If downforce for improved rear traction at speed is a priority (competition use) then this newly designed spoiler is recommended BUT it will not improve overall handling and performance unless a front air-dam is also fitted. For more details go here.

Update on 1:18 scale BRE Datsun 510 Models
The models we've been waiting for, and waiting, and waiting
|
Let's be real. This project has been a mess. The first production run of models was not released due to quality issues (chrome bumpers bubbled). The next production run was of stellar quality but got caught in the west coast dockworkers strike and sat on a cargo ship in the Pacific for months. THEN when we finally got the models, it wasn't the full quantity we were expecting. We found the model company had only done a partial run! With the model company's help we were able to get enough models to fill all pre-orders we had, except two orders. Another run of models is being produced right now. The model company is visiting the factory this week and we will have another update soon.
We'll keep you updated on the new production run. All efforts are being made to have these arrive in time for the holidays but due to our experience last year we won't be offering them until they are well on their way here. Thanks so much for your continued patience!

The SEMA convention (largest automotive convention in Vegas) is just next week. Unbelievable! If you'll be in town, stop by to see BRE's new digs. We aren't going to put any pressure on Gayle to get the front showroom setup (that great display of our history) but all our products are here and on display.
And checkout our latest Aerovault trailers. All comments we get from customers are stellar but here's the last one from Dennis in Seattle:
"I have now owned my Aerovault for a week. I met the trailer in Idaho, hooked it to a 25 year old Jeep Grand Wagoneer and effortlessly drove 670 miles back to Seattle. To begin, it is unfair to call it a trailer. It is a work of art both aesthetically and practically. It is just incredible how well you thought through what owners would need. Perfect, Just Perfect!"
February 6th, Brock will be Honored at the Legends of Riverside event at the Riverside International Automotive museum. The Museum's website is under construction so pretty much the only details available are what we've shared here. We are working to get more info for you.
February 20th, Brock will be presenting at the newly renovated Petersen Museum in downtown LA. No details available on the Petersen Museum website yet. The museum has been closed all this year during their major, major renovation. Plans are to reopen early December.
