Greetings!
Having raised two daughters, I recall so well how stressful a period it was during exams and leading up to them. Some days the stress of just being a teen is overwhelming, especially in the period leading up to the college years.
Energetic Juniors has worked with many teens since 1996, who came to us for a variety of reasons and goals. Our trainers can assist your children in sport skills, help increase your child's overall activity level, reduce their stress, and build their confidence. We are here for your sons, daughters, and clients/patients to keep them fit, healthy, and energetic.
Best regards,
Bonita Porte, founder Energetic Juniors Energetic Seniors

 | Tame the Stress Monster: 5 Tips By Candice Pell, Energetic Juniors Certified Trainer and Yoga Instructor
| Teens have stress; that is no surprise. It is even less surprising that being a teen is only becoming more stressful. With that said, there are things that teens can do to lessen their stress. Here are 5 easy tips that anyone can do to lessen stress:
1) Take a deep breath: inhale through the nose and sigh out the mouth.
2) Move your body. Exercise can help you release stress as well as endorphins, making you feel good.
3) Make time for something creative--even if it's just doodling to music.
4) SLEEP! Sleep is when the body helps the brain remember things, so all-nighters are counterproductive.
5) Lie or sit still. Start off easy; try 1 minute to think about nothing, and build up from there. The keyword is "try." Don't let your de-stress tools stress you out!

 | The Breakdown of an Energetic Juniors Personalized Workout By Katrina Phillip, Energetic Juniors Certified Trainer
|
Rebecca's Fitness Goal:
"To be more healthy and to lose weight", by actively participating in a fitness routine 3-5 times a week. I am her guide, teaching and leading her through a variety of exercises and activities, in order to help her establish and get her goal well on it's way of being achieved.
The Workout:
This past spring/summer season Rebecca and I had many chances and opportunities to work outside. This was wonderful, because when outside we primarily focused on cardiovascular endurance exercises, such as power walking and jogging/walking intervals.
For muscle toning, if outside, we do a series of leg lifts, (front, side, and back) to engage and work the inner & outer thigh region, the glutes and hamstrings (a set of 10 regular, 10 pulses, 10 extend and bends, and a slow count of 10 holding the leg up). We also do many bench exercises that target the core (sitting on the bench while holding the legs up & balancing for a slow count of 10-15), triceps & chest (tricep dips and standing push-ups (2-3 sets of 10-15 reps)), as well as the hamstrings & glutes (step ups, 15-10 on each leg). I intersperse several stretches throughout the power walk and the muscle toning segments (i.e..; warm-up walk, stretch, tone, stretch if needed, walk, tone, walk, tone, and making sure I end with a series of stretches or more core strengthening exercises inside if time permits). Whenever inside I try to change it up by playing music to add inspiration, while using cards, or other things around the room to keep Rebecca moving, involved, and interested. Games such as Fitness BlackJack, Indianhead War, laundry basket sit-up toss, physio ball exercises, etc.
See what Rebecca's Mom has to say:
"My daughter, Rebecca, 16, has been a client of Energetic Juniors for over 2 years. During that time she has worked with two trainers, Katrina Phillip and Emily Riordan. Both trainers are energetic, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and reliable. Working with these trainers has had a very positive influence on Rebecca's fitness level and enthusiasm for working out."
