NOT A MEMBER YET? Future PBS members are allowed to attend one (and only one) PBS meeting prior to earning beer income and qualifying for PBS membership. This CBC meeting is a good one to attend because of the networking opportunities. Future members can also attend a Regional PBS Chapter meeting in their area. [Please note: Due to overwhelming popularity and our small intimate meeting space, from now on our GABF Meeting & Educational Seminar will be open only to PBS members registered on our website.]
MEET TERI IN PERSON: I will be working the trade show all hours except Thursday AM before our PBS meeting. ERNIE'S PINK BOOTS FUNDRAISER ALL FEMALE 30-TAP TAKEOVER on APRIL 10th
|
PBS members Ashleigh Carter and Kristen Heintz have organized a CBC week all-female 30-Tap Takeover and PBS Fundraiser at:
Ernie's Bar & Pizza
2915 W 44th Ave
Denver, CO 80211 USA Phone: (303) 955-5580
30 women-brewed beers on tap at once, ladies! Dig that!
Ashleigh is the organizer and Kristen is the owner of Ernie's. Although the beer will be pouring all week, beginning on Tuesday, Kristen has arranged for a special event on Thursday April 10th, so mark your calendar:
Thursday April 10th: 5-7pm: Ernie's is open to the public, and PBS members are invited to enjoy before the dinner rush, and before the Meet the PBS Brewers starts at 7:00pm:
7pm-2am: Meet the PBS Brewers: YOU! Ernie's is promoting this time slot to the public, so stay and meet your fans. Kristen has booked a bluegrass band to keep the scene lively. If this is a success, with luck we can look forward to repeating this in Denver every Great American Beer Festival week. Enjoy! Kristen writes: "Ernie's is supporting the Pink Boots organization by donating 50% of all beer proceeds to go towards the Pink Boots Scholarship fund. I believe in the cause and supporting women in growing in this industry. As a female GM/Managing partner it has been tough over the years to crack into the restaurant industry as a credible leader and I needed the support of others to help myself grow personally and professionally. I want to do the same for this group of female brewers and beer professionals in rising to the top."

VOLUNTEER HIGHLIGHT - AUDRA GAIZIUNAS - FORMER PBS SCHOLARSHIP SELECTION COMMITTEE MEMBER
|

As a volunteer for Pink Boots Society, Audra Gaiziunas served on the 2013 Scholarship Selection Committee, which she saw as her opportunity to help empower other women in the industry. "Serving on the committee was challenging but gratifying," Audra said. "It was challenging picking one recipient out of so many qualified candidates but gratifying to know we were able to help."
In her beer career, Audra is owner of Brewed For Her Ledger LLC, a management consultancy firm focused on providing guidance to craft brewing and creative communities. She helps brewery clients manage the left-brain side of business. Not only does Audra have a head for numbers, she has over 15 years experience in senior leadership roles in craft brewing, manufacturing, services, non-profits and start ups. She's worked for Dogfish Head Craft Brewery as controller and for Mother Earth Brewing Co. as Chief Financial Officer.
You can connect with Audra at audra.gaiziunas@gmail.com, or on Twitter @beermudderaudra, as well as on Instagram or on LinkedIn at (linkedin.com/in/agm1127)

VOLUNTEER HIGHLIGHT - DENISE JONES - FORMER PBS SCHOLARSHIP SELECTION COMMITTEE MEMBER
|
When California brewer Denise Jones first attended PBS meetings, the group was in its incipient stages and figuring out how to define itself. While not immediately convinced of the need for a women-only group, she warmed to the idea when it was decided that PBS would include more than just brewers.
"Inclusion diversified the group and has helped strengthen the acumen and enthusiasm of the Society as a whole," she says.
Through the years, Jones has contributed to meetings by speaking about the brewing profession and sending beer from Moylan's Brewing, where she worked until joining Napa's Napa Point Brewing and Cask & Stone Brewery as brewmaster last year. The 21-year brewing vet also served on PBS' Scholarship Selection Committee until recently.
"Education and ideas aren't always available to women who are wanton of it, so helping open doors to enable better brewers is really the goal," she says.
