CGC Summer Jobs Available

The Community of the Great Commission camp, located in Foresthill, CA, is looking for summer site staff.
Do you know anyone looking for a 6-9 week gig this summer?

We need Your Help!

CGC really needs some summer staff! Retreat workers and lifeguards needed from early June til mid-August. On site housing available. Great for college students!
Please contact Sandra at the camp at 1-530-367-2370.

STORIES AND PHOTOS NEEDED FOR THE UPDATED HISTORY OF CGC!

All of us have stories to tell.

Do you remember your first camp experience?  Do you remember new friends there who are now your good friends?  What was your best camp experience at CGC?  These and other questions can be answered....by you!

So get out a pen and paper and write some of your great experiences that you had while a camper, counselor, director or ?.  Send them to the following email address:   CGCHistoryGuy@mail.com.  Get out your camp photos - both the group photo and some of the photos you took when you were up there.  Scan them (make sure they are in the JPEG format), and include them with your email as an attachment.

A minor note:  I have been asked if there are any copies of the original History of CGC (1994) left.  All 60 copies were sold at the 35th Anniversary in 1994.  I have had a few requests for them and this is the answer why there are none of them left to sell.
I look forward to hearing from you!

Dave Babayco
the "CGC History" guy.

Circles of Peace Relations with Muslims and Islam

Saturday, June 25, 2016 1:00pm - 3:30pm
Lafayette Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) 584 Glenside Drive, Lafayette, CA

The Justice Commission of the Christian Church of Northern California-Nevada is sponsoring an opportunity to continue our Circles of Peace conversation on the topic of relations with Muslims and Islam which began at Annual Gathering 2016. Depending on the number and interests of participants we will host circles of inquiry, healing, and advocacy.

A Circle of Inquiry is formed to provide a safe space to deepen the sharing of diverse experiences and information. Circles of Healing serve as supportive groups for those painfully affected by a particular issue who may seek forgiveness or reconciliation

Our primary intention is to host a Circle of Advocacy/Action to explore what a group needs to do to move forward in regard to a particular issue. It asks "What needs to be done" and then allows for brainstorming of possible actions.

There is no cost for participating in these circles. Prior experience with a Circle of Peace is not necessary. Agreements and guidelines for participating in the Circle of Peace process are available on the CCNC-N website: select Justice Commission under the Ministries tab, then, Holy Manners for Group Process and Basic Guidelines for Calling a Circle.

The Circles of Peace process is the means the CCNC-N region has chosen to deal with the difficult justice issues that face our church and world.

To sign up email Carol Bono, cbono56@yahoo.com by June 15th.
Please mention your interest in either a Circle of Inquiry, Circle of Healing or Circle of Advocacy/Action
