Mission Trip to the Republic of Congo CCNC-N Trip to Republic of the CongoGood news! We finally have a date for sending a small group to visit with our brothers and sisters in the Republic of the Congo. For several years CCNC-N has had a partnership with the DOC churches in the ROC. Many of you may remember about 3 years ago we invited Rev. Ngoka, pastor of the DOC church in ROC, and his wife Gertrude, to spend 3 weeks with us visiting our churches, and attending Annual Gathering. Many of you visited with them, shared worship with them in your churches, hosted them in your homes, and became friends with them. Now, we have been invited to visit them. The dates for our trip are June 18 - June 27, 2015. The information on requirements for those wanting to go and an application form are located here. We do know the approximate cost per person will be between $4,500 and $5,000. We are planning on raising sufficient funds to have some scholarships available to help defray the cost for some who would like to go, but do not have the necessary resources. We are hoping all of you will become involved in this venture. Here are ways all churches and members can become involved: - Donate money for gifts for the churches and groups we will be visiting and for scholarships to help defray the cost of the trip.
- Make or purchase a cloth for a communion table. These we can take with us in our suitcases.
- Purchase a couple of chalices with the DOC logo which we can take with us to give to at least a couple of the churches we visit.
- Read up on ROC and study about the country. We'll put some sources online.OC
- Pray for ROC and for those on the trip.
We on your planning team are excited by the possibilities of this trip and the ways it will strengthen our ties with our brothers and sisters in the ROC. Please join in this venture by becoming involved in some of the ways listed above. For more information, contact Charlotte Jackson by phone at (650) 494-6973, or by email at jacksoncharlotte@comcast.net Your ROC Team, Charlotte Jackson, Kyung-Min Daniel Lee, Gerry Braque, Gale Tompkins-Bischel
