Warmest greetings from the Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, California, a progressive Christian graduate institution with strong ties to the Disciples of Christ. It is our pleasure to inform you of the exciting lineup of lectures, courses and workshops for this year's Summer Session. I'm writing to extend a formal invitation to you, your fellow clergy, and members of your faith community to join us this summer. Particularly exciting is our course on DOC History and Polity. This is a course is offered in collaboration with Disciples Seminary Foundation. This class will survey the history of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) from its foundings two centuries ago to the contemporary manifestations of the church. Emphasis will be placed on the context of American Christianity, the interaction of the church with the wider culture, and the establishment of the church within the western United States. Although the class will provide a critical examination of the history, we will focus on the usefulness of Disciples history for understanding the denomination's present and its resources for the future. The course will explore the present functioning of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in its congregational, regional, and general expressions. We will also analyze the theological roots and developments of the Disciples tradition, and discuss directions of mission and ministry within the contemporary Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). For more details, you can check out our website: http://www.psr.edu/summer. Please get in touch any time: we are at 510\849-8227 and summer@psr.edu. REGIONAL STAFF UPDATES Who's around and when. . .
Prayers of celebration and support for our Transitional Interim Regional Minister, Mary Jacobs.
Our Ministry Associate, Quan Walker, has returned to work refreshed and renewed.
Yolanda Marquez-Lucar writes: "Thank God we are now in Peru with family and friends pulling together in prayer for the health of Miguel's mom, America Sarmiento. Doctors are saying she has crossed the most dangerous moments. Seems as new med treatment and machines are helping the kidneys to react positively. Obviously, I expect that, because all the prayers of the saints move the hands of the Creator, the Maker of Mqui's body. We truly appreciate all your prayers and good wishes for a speedy recovery."

JOYS AND CONCERNS AND PRAYER NEEDS

If you were not able to be at Annual Gathering and would like to participate in the offering, please send your contribution to CCNC-N earmarked for the AG Offering. We also celebrate $120.50 and one 3V Duracell battery placed in Blessing Boxes in celebration of the ways our life is blessed as the CCNC-N. The battery reminds us to recharge when necessary in order to keep on running!
