The Lincoln Square BID's 19th Annual Meeting will take place on Thursday, May 12
The Lincoln Square BID will hold its 19th Annual Meeting on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 8:15am at Fordham University School of Law in the Costantino Room located at 150 W. 62nd Street. Join us as we discuss important business and hear from three outstanding guest speakers: Gregg Bishop (pictured left), Commissioner of the NYC Department of Small Business Services; Captain Levon Holley (pictured center), Commanding Officer of the 20th Precinct, NYPD; and Stephan Russo (pictured right), Executive Director of Goddard Riverside Community Center. We will also review accomplishments, adopt the FY 2017 budget, and elect Directors to our Board.

Space is limited and reservations are required. In order to vote on corporate matters at this meeting, you must be registered. Those eligible to vote include property owners, commercial tenants, and residents in our district. You can register to vote by clicking here. Magical Designs for Mozart's Magic Flute opens at the NYPL for the Performing Arts

Magical Designs for Mozart's Magic Flute is a new unique comparative exhibition of outstanding performance designs for Mozart's sublime opera on loan from leading European and American opera collections. These beautiful and historic designs are accompanied by costumes, set pieces, models, and colorful animals as well as printed music illustrations from the late 17th and 18th Centuries. Curated by acclaimed theater designer Judy Levin, the exhibit will be on display in the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts' Dorothy and Lewis B. Also, as a preview of an upcoming presentation of Mozart's 'Die Zauberfl�te' (The Magic Flute), the Juilliard School's Marcus Institute for Vocal Arts is presenting a free concert of highlight arias and scenes at the Library's Bruno Walter Auditorium on Saturday, April 2 starting at 2:30pm. New York City Ballet Season

There are so many great performances to experience this spring at the New York City Ballet (NYCB). Starting on Tuesday, April 19 NYCB will be performing what it calls "one of the most brilliant works in the Balanchine repertoire", Jewels. Then, beginning on Wednesday, April 20 three of today's most in-demand choreographers join forces on a program accented by impressive and atmospheric scenery for 21st Century Choreographers. And, Thursday, April 21 is the first of three performances of American Music, a set of classical, fantastical, and modern dances that include a ballet in sneakers, a reflection of youth in the 1950 post-war era, and a performance that unites NYCB's dancers with students from the School of American Ballet.

NYCB also just announced its 2016 - 17 Season which is packed with premieres, classics and a four-week festival next spring. Subscriptions for the season go on sale on Monday, April 25 at noon.

Prepare for Passover with some help from Lincoln Square businesses
It's not too early to begin preparations for your Passover Seder. This year, Passover begins on the evening of Friday, April 22 and ends on Saturday, April 30, and several businesses and organizations in Lincoln Square are ready to help you ensure a great and traditional celebration.

If you'd like to offer your guests a gourmet meal with modern flavors, Epicerie Boulud at 1900 Broadway can help you with its Passover Seder catering package and platters. The catered meal serves six guests and comes with herb potato latkes, handmade matzo, and your choice of salmon or brisket for the main course among other sides and dessert. Or, if you'd like just one or two special treats to add to your own catering menu, you can order individual side platters from the store such as mini quiche, matzo ball soup, a plate of vegetables, eggs and aioli, and many more delicious choices. In the Shops at Columbus Circle, Whole Foods Market has a great selection of kosher foods and ingredients for cooking the perfect Seder meal. The store carries items like gefilte fish, kosher salt, organic matzo meal and matzo, and all of the fresh produce you need to create your Seder plate. 

At Lincoln Square Synagogue, 180 Amsterdam Avenue, you can purchase wine in preparation for Pesach at a special Pre-Pesach Wine Sale and Tasting event on Monday, April 4. The event will showcase and sell a selection of Israeli wines with 10% of all proceeds benefiting the Synagogue. At 30 West 68th Street, Stephen Wise Free Synagogue is hosting several community Passover Seders, each with different themes, to celebrate Passover between Sunday, April 10 and Friday, April 22. For instance, on Sunday, April 10, the Synagogue will host a Young Family Chocolate Seder, a sweet filled meal aimed at introducing children to Pesach traditions and customs. Then, on Wednesday, April 13, there is a Women's Passover Seder co-sponsored by the Women's Organization to bring women of all ages together to celebrate the role of women in this tradition. These are just two examples of the unique Passover Seders that Stephen Wise Free Synagogue is hosting. Click here to see a list of all celebrations with details of time and cost. 

If you'd rather eat out to celebrate Passover, Telepan at 72 West 69th Street can accommodate. On Friday, April 22 and Saturday, April 23, the restaurant will be offering a $98 four-course menu featuring unique twists on traditional Passover Seder dishes. You can choose savory dishes like arctic char and roasted and braised chicken, and you can also get Telepan's take on matzo ball soup. In order to get this deal, all members of the table must opt in. Also, Rosa Mexicano at 61 Columbus Avenue will be offering a special menu on Friday, April 22 and Saturday, April 23 to commemorate Passover with Mexican flare. Details for Rosa Mexicano's Mexican Passover are not yet available, but be sure to check their website for coming information. You can also contact the restaurant at 212.977.7700. 

With three weeks to go until Passover, there is plenty of time to prep for a gathering with a few trips to shops around Lincoln Square. And, of course, if you're looking for seasonal essentials, check out neighborhood stores like Gracious Home, West Elm, Williams-Sonoma, and Bed Bath & Beyond.
Change up your routine with CrossFit Spot's Beginner's Program
Spring is the perfect time of year to switch up your fitness routine. Fellowship at The Design Trust for Public Space
The Design Trust for Public Space, a nonprofit dedicated to the future of public spaces in New York City, recently announced its Equitable Public Space Fellowship: a new one-year position for a recent graduate at the Design Trust.  

The Design Trust is attempting to reach as many promising candidates from various backgrounds, races, ethnicities, and other under-represented groups as possible. The new fellow will gain broad experience in the field and contribute to projects while receiving mentorship and hands-on professional development. 

This new program also seeks to advance the conversation around diversity in the field and create a model for bringing more voices, skill sets, and life experiences into the practice of design for public space. For more information about the position visit designtrust.org.
