On the Streets: Our Hardworking Clean Team
While running errands, taking a break for lunch, or simply going about a daily routine, many of Lincoln Square's residents, workers, and visitors recognize the Lincoln Square BID's Clean Team. The Lincoln Square BID Clean Team, who are contracted through Atlantic Maintenance, are out on the street seven days a week working to keep the district free of litter, graffiti, and more.  Our workers perform a number of tasks that positively impact our neighborhood's quality of life, not the least of which include sweeping the sidewalks and 18 inches out from the curb to clear litter and patrolling Lincoln Square with their barrels to ensure the district is always clean.

Every single day Clean Team members bag trash from our branded trash receptacles, adding up to over 80,000 bags per year, and polish the cans' exteriors to keep them shining, attractive additions to the sidewalk; they sweep the pedestrian crossings in the Broadway Malls from the southern side of 60th Street up to the southern side of 70th Street and remove water that ponds at the crosswalks throughout the district. During snowy weather, the Clean Team works tirelessly to clear snow piles and ice from crosswalks, bus stops, and bus shelters. Our Clean Team also cleans off and wipes down the tables and chairs at both Dante Park and Richard Tucker Park so that guests and residents may always enjoy a clean spot to relax and take a short break.

The dedication and hard work of our Clean Team has played a major part in transforming Lincoln Square into the clean and welcoming neighborhood we know today. Plus, many of these workers have been with us for well over 10 years. Bravo Clean Team! Be sure to thank them when you pass them on our spotless sidewalks.

Juilliard Events in November
Ensemble ACJW
The calendar for November at The Juilliard School is packed with great events for the public where patrons can enjoy myriad musical and stage performances from baroque to jazz to drama, and some at no charge.

Nearly every week, Juilliard will offer free tickets for some events or offer shows that require no tickets at all. For example, Pre-College Faculty Recitals occur regularly on the schedule, with five scheduled in November, during which talented Juilliard Faculty puts on free musical performances in Paul Hall. Plus, there are two scheduled performances by Juilliard students from the Choreographers and Composers class with free tickets available, on November 20 & 21, which offer a spectacular glimpse into the work and studies of this studio course while giving the students space to perform their technique and talents. Also, there are free tickets available for a performance on November 10 by Ensemble ACJW, a collective of talented young professional musicians.

These are just a few of the great events guests can attend on and around Juilliard's campus. To see listings for more free events and for ticketed events, visit events.juilliard.edu. Don't miss the opportunity to enjoy great performances from the 2015-2016 season!
Third Water Tunnel Project & Bow Tie Construction Updates
W. 62nd Street between Amsterdam Avenue & Columbus Avenue (L)
W. 65th Street Bow-Tie Intersection (R)
The New York City Department of Design and Construction (DDC) recently reported that construction activity on West 60th Street between West End Avenue and Amsterdam Avenue has been completed now that paving work is done. While part of the work has been completed, the project will continue on Columbus Avenue, Amsterdam Avenue, West End Avenue, and West 62nd Street through the end of 2016.

Also, the Lincoln Square neighborhood is still a major construction zone with workers from both The Department of Transportation (DOT) and Con Edison continuing work to reconstruct the 65th Street bow tie area. Be careful as you cross Broadway and Columbus Avenue around 65th Street, as construction happens throughout the day and, without street markings, this can cause unsafe crossing areas for pedestrians

Stay up-to-date as work continues by checking the news section of the Lincoln Square BID's website where updates and advisories are routinely posted.
