Information Ambassadors Are Back on the Job

If you're walking around Lincoln Square this summer, be sure to stop by one of our three information carousels, located at Columbus Circle, Dante Park and Richard Tucker Park. While most of our Student Information Ambassadors won't begin until July, two returning student supervisors and ReServists are already staffing the carousels. Our friendly ambassadors are on hand to provide directions, information and answer any other questions you have about places to go and things to do in Lincoln Square and all of New York City.

The Lincoln Square BID is very excited to have friendly faces out earlier this year at our information carousels so they can greet the thousands of visitors that come to our district.  They give true meaning to clean, safe, and friendly!

Of course, if you don't have a chance to visit our ambassadors in person, be sure to check our online events calendar which is full of things to do in Lincoln Square.

Creative Ways to Spend Father's Day

Father's Day is now just around the corner on Sunday, June 21. In case you're still looking for that perfect dad-present, here is the previous Father's Day article featuring many of the stores in Lincoln Square that will help you find a special something in time for Sunday. If you'd also like to spend some quality time with Dad for the holiday or make him something unique, there are several activities in Lincoln Square that are perfect for the occasion.

Williams-Sonoma is hosting a free Junior Chef Class at the Columbus Circle location in celebration of Father's Day. On Saturday, June, 20, from 10:00am to 12:00pm, children ages 5-13 can join their dads in-store and learn about using special cooking utensils, easy dessert and dinner recipes, and taste testing all along the way.  And, Williams-Sonoma has a great selection of kitchen gadgets that Dad will love to play with too. Space is limited, so call 212.581.1146 to reserve a spot today.

The New York Public Library is hosting a Father's Day craft session at its Riverside Library location, at 127 Amsterdam Ave. For an hour on Saturday, June 20, from 2:00pm to 3:00pm, children of all ages are invited to join in for a Craft It activity, making handmade Father's Day cards to tell Dad how much they care. Materials to make the cards will be supplied by the library, but crafters are encouraged to bring their own unique creativity to the table.

Time For Outdoor Dining

With the summer season upon us, New Yorkers are participating in their favorite warm weather activity: dining al fresco. Luckily, Lincoln Square has many restaurants that offer seasonal outdoor dining.

On Lincoln Square's own 'Restaurant Row' along Broadway between 63rd and 64th Street, guests can take in the views of our organization's lushly planted Broadway Malls and Lincoln Center's campus across the way while enjoying exceptional food and drink at The Smith, Café Fiorello, Bar Boulud, Epicerie Boulud or Boulud Sud.  Over on Columbus Avenue, Rosa Mexicano's signature guacamole tastes just as delicious when eaten at its breezy sidewalk café. You can also enjoy a mouthwatering Cadillac burger in the fresh air of the open windows at P.J. Clarke's.

For other dining experiences with great outdoor views, look no further than Jean-Georges or Lincoln Ristorante. The Terrace at Jean-Georges offers stylish outdoor seating just north of the iconic Columbus Circle, while Lincoln Ristorante allows guests to dine under umbrella shade by the Paul Milstein Pool and Terrace.

Towards the northern end of Lincoln Square, you can grab a plate of delicious hummus outside at Nanoosh. And, if you're in the mood for a nice glass of wine with a classic Italian meal while soaking in the sun, grab a table outside on Luce's charming terrazzo or Barcibo Enoteca's quaint outdoor area.

Lincoln Center's Midsummer Night Swing

The biggest dance party of the summer is coming back to Lincoln Square! Lincoln Center's Midsummer Night Swing will get things cooking on the outdoor dance floor at Damrosch Park Tuesdays - Saturdays from June 23 until July 11.

Some of the best swing, jazz, rock n' roll, Latin, and disco acts will electrify the evening air with live music. But, the real stars of the event are the people strutting their stuff on the dance floor. Whether you're a seasoned dancer or still learning how to move your feet, you can pick up some new moves from the group dance lesson before each Midsummer Night Swing performance.

Head to MidsummerNightSwing.org to see all of the performance details, ticket information, and more.

When you've danced up an appetite for a delicious bite, pop over to BONMi on the ground level at Fordham's Law School directly on 62nd Street. BONMi is a Vietnamese inspired fast casual restaurant serving banh-mi sandwiches, rice and noodle bowls, and salads, along with refreshing house-made beverages. The Lincoln Square location is open weekdays until 10:00pm and weekends until 9:00pm.
