Dulce Graduated: And You Can Make it Possible for Others During This Season of Thanksgiving
   Fall Harvest

Dear

Can you imagine what it would be like if you couldn't read or write? When Xela AID arrived in San Martín, Guatemala, 21 years ago, we found a village where more than 75% of children and adults were illiterate! We are proud that with the help of supporters like you, we have been able to change that. Because of the Work-Study Scholarships (WSS) we've been able to provide, and the good example we've set, MOST children in the village are now in school and becoming self reliant!

We are proud of the young people like Dulce de León (left) who, after a decade of hard work in our WSS program, graduated just this week! Special thanks to Dulce's long-time sponsor Marisa Grimes for making her success possible. Dulce will pursue a career giving back to others focused on early childhood development.

Xela AID also learned early on that a child who is sick cannot thrive in school; and families that are not well cannot participate and support their child's education. Because of this, we founded the Xela AID June Russel Glennon Clinic where children in our education programs and their families receive life-saving care.

This is the time of the year that we ask for your support in funding our clinic operations which are central to making our educational programs function. Xela AID receives no governmental funding, and relies on the generosity of people like you!

We all have so much to be thankful for! During our Annual Fund drive this Fall and Winter, every gift counts. We thank you ahead of time for whatever you're able to share with those less fortunate during this season of Thanksgiving
