Welcome to the 2015 Centennial Season of the Women's Oklahoma Golf Association. One hundred years ago our great organization was founded and a Championship was established out of an invitational that was held at the Oklahoma City Golf & CC. The purpose of the organization in 1915 was to crown a Women's Oklahoma State Amateur Champion. Some of the concerns of the lady golfers of the time were finishing their rounds so they could make it to the local Fair and not tripping on their long dresses as they walked the course. Even though times have changed, the Women's Oklahoma Golf Association has flourished over a 100 years, and the women who have supported this organization for a century through participation and volunteer administration deserve our utmost appreciation. We owe so much to the women who have come before us and to the women and girls who support the organization today.
We have very exciting venues lined up for our Championships and Tournaments in 2015 and the highlight will be hosting the State Amateur Championship at our founding location along with Celebrating the History of WOGA with a special Gala/Banquet at Oklahoma City Golf and CC on July 26. We hope all of you will attend and bring your family and friends to help WOGA celebrate. With any great event, it takes financial support as well and WOGA is in need of sponsorships for the Centennial. For Centennial Sponsorship information please click HERE. Please send all donations to the WOGA office at 6218 S. Lewis Suite 200, Tulsa, OK 74136. Thank you for making this very special event possible. Tickets for the event will go on sale March 1st, 2015
A special welcome to Connie Glenn, whom many of you already know, as our part time WOGA Administrative Assistant. Connie will be assisting WOGA with Membership Processing and other Administrative needs. Susan Hall will also continue as part time staff in 2015 running the TPP Tournament Software for Pairings, Scorecards, Scoring and Prizes at our Tournaments.
We look forward to seeing all of you this year,
Sheila Dills, President
Women's Oklahoma Golf Association
