 Lisa McCall, M.S., CCC-SLP is a staff speech-language pathologist at Kid's Creek. Lisa earned her master's degree in speech-language pathology from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia in 1992. She has over nineteen years of experience working in various settings, including private practice, the school systems, home health care, brain injury rehabilitation settings and nursing homes. She has worked with both adults and children, and has specialized in early intervention in private practice since 2005. Lisa's main areas of expertise are early intervention; developmental apraxia of speech; autism spectrum disorders; articulation delays; and expressive and receptive language delays. She has personal experience with auditory processing disorders, since her own child has an auditory processing disability. Lisa has a real passion for making sure the whole child is looked at and making sure that each child is getting the services they need. Lisa is a parent advocate and actively assists parents in achieving the services their child is entitled to in the public school systems. She is a member of the Georgia Speech Language Hearing Association and is certified by the American Speech Language Hearing Association. Lisa moved from Cary, North Carolina in August 2010 and now resides in Alpharetta, Georgia with her husband, Roy and two children, Lauren and Caleb. Bethany Bearden, MS OTR/L is a staff occupational therapist who is certified in Sensory Integration. She received her Bachelors and Masters degree in Occupational Therapy at Brenau University in 2009. She began her career working as the Children's Program Coordinator at a Domestic Violence Center in addition to working at an outpatient clinic. Bethany has worked with ages 0-21 in a variety of settings and with a variety of diagnoses. Bethany has completed her certification in Sensory Integration. She is able to administer the Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests (SIPT). Bethany has attended courses such as the Alert Program and Astronaut Training Program. Additionally, Bethany is pursuing her certification in Neuro-Developmental Treatment. An avid learner, Bethany continually seeks out educational opportunities to better serve her clients. Bethany is passionate about her work and loves developing close relationships working with each child and family. She is excited about working with children at Kid's Creek and seeing them succeed for many years to come. Monique Mitchell Toole, M Ed, Special Education, and BBA Marketing. Monique earned her BBA in 1983 from the University of Ga. and spent 20 years in public relations, marketing and university advancement. Her passion for education prompted her to obtain a Master's Degree in Special Education from North Georgia College and State University 2009. Georgia teacher certified and formerly employed in Forsyth County Elementary Schools, she joins Kid's Creek as our on-site academic tutor and Social Skills Program Coordinator. Monique is a member of Phi Kappa Phi honorary society, and the Council for Exceptional Children. Her instructional style is thorough and innovative, while her temperament is sensitive and patient. Monique's special gifts lie in the area of social and behavioral support for children with special needs, particularly those on the autism spectrum. Her study of research-based literature in the area of social competence and emotional intelligence inspired her to design a unique, progress-monitoring social skills program. She is successfully administering these programs at Kid's Creek with much positive response from participants and parents alike. Monique lives in Cumming with her husband, John, and their son, Sean.
