Happy Fall everyone! It's been an exciting first few weeks back to classes! We're happy to see so many new and returning dancers and families come through our doors and to see so many enthusiastic dancers in classes!
In an effort to keep everyone informed about what's going on at VDC, we will be e-mailing a newsletter out each month. Our newsletter will contain important information about what's going on at VDC, as well as some coupons and fun facts! This month's issue contains details about our monthly theme week (Halloween costumes!), as well as our Bring a Friend week. You'll also learn some fun facts about one of our teachers, Ms. Windsor!
One other way to keep up-to-date (and be informed of any weather related closing) is to "Like" us on Facebook. You will also be able to enjoy pictures of our dancers on our Facebook page!
Please stop by the desk while you're at VDC - whether it's just to say hi or to ask questions. We're here to help and we'd love to get to know you!
Hopefully we'll be getting some beautiful fall weather to enjoy soon! Before you know it, we'll be pulling out the winter coats, scarves and gloves!
Sincerely,
VDC Staff |
Meet Ms. Windsor
(Windsor Johnson)
|
Ms. Windsor, like many other dance teachers, started dancing at a very young age. She began training at the "Martinique School of Dance" in Richmond, VA and her mom was her first dance teacher! Her fondest dance memories are from her performances on stage. Ms. Windsor would look forward to spring and heading to the theatre to perform the dances she had learned in her classes!
When Ms. Windsor is not teaching dance classes, she keeps busy by running. She has become an avid runner and has completed 3 half marathons with her 4th quickly approaching this month. It's a good thing that she likes to run because her favorite type of food is Italian!
Although Ms. Windsor teaches a variety of dance styles, Ballet is her personal favorite and she enjoys sharing her love of ballet with her students. This is Ms. Windsor's 5th year teaching at VDC. You can find her in the classroom teaching quite a wide range of our dancers from our youngest dancers in our Mommy & Me classes through to our adult students in Adult Ballet and Adult Jazz on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. We are fortunate to have Ms. Windsor here at Virginia Dance Center sharing her talents and love of dance.

Wear your Halloween
Costume to Class!
Students are welcome to wear their Halloween costumes for classes at VDC starting Thursday, October 24th through Wednesday, October 30th. If you don't have a Halloween costume, how about wearing a dance costume from a prior recital?!?
Students should be able to move freely in the costume and should wear dance clothes beneath the costume in case the costume is too restrictive for class. Only proper dance shoes may be worn.
Costumes may NOT be worn for the following classes:
Ballet Levels 3, 4, 5
Jazz Levels 3, 4, 5
Lyrical Levels 3, 4/5
All Teen Classes
