I was hoping by the time we sent out our March newsletter, spring would be in the air!  Instead, as I write this, we are facing a threat of snow and it's still cold out there!  Hopefully it won't be much longer before the temperatures go up and the flowers start to bloom!  We have a busy time ahead of us at VDC in the next couple of months.  Be sure to read this newsletter and all information that is sent home so you can keep up with the schedules for recital photos, recital and dress rehearsal, Customer Appreciation and more!  We have also sent information home with our dancers about our summer dance classes and dance camps!  Be sure to register early to reserve your spot in the class you want! Meet Windsor Johnson   Ms. Windsor, like many other dance teachers, started dancing at a very young age. She started dancing at the Martinique School of Dance in Richmond and her mom was her first dance teacher! Her fondest memories of dancing as a child were the times when she performed on stage. Ms. Windsor always looked forward to spring and heading to the theater to perform the dances she had learned throughout the year!   When Ms. Windsor is not teaching dance, she enjoys running.  She has become an avid runner and has completed 3 half marathons, with her 4th quickly approaching this month. It's a good thing that she likes to run because her favorite type of food is Italian! Ballet is Ms. Windsor's favorite style of dance and she enjoys sharing her love of ballet with her students. This is Ms. Windsor's 4th year with VDC. You can find her in the classroom teaching our youngest dancers and our older students in adult ballet. We are fortunate to have Ms. Windsor here at Virginia Dance Center sharing her  talents and love of dance.  Summer Classes July 8th - August 16th   Don't let summer boredom get to you - or your dancer! Come join us and explore a new dance style. Whether it's hip hop, tap, jazz or ballet, we offer classes for all age levels. Don't delay! Summer registration is now open and many classes fill quickly!   Early Registration Incentive - Be one of the first 25 families (current VDC students only) to register for summer dance classes or camps by April 15th and receive 4 VIP seats for VDC's Dancin' 2013!  Tickets must be purchased at regular cost. March Monday March 11th - Saturday March 16th  Wear something green to class to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. See below for details.   Saturday March 16th - Sunday March 17th Starbound Dance Competition for  VDC Dance Company.    Monday March 25th - Saturday March 30th  VDC Closed - Spring Break   April   Friday April 19th - Sunday April 21st NexStar Dance competition for  VDC Dance Company May Saturday May 4th - Sunday May 5th Memories in the Making - Individual and Group photos will be taken at VDC. Photo Schedule will be distributed later this month. Thursday May 30th - Dress Rehearsal at 5:15pm for the 12:00pm performance.  Friday May 31st - Dress Rehearsal at 5:15pm for the 4:30pm performance.  June Saturday June 1st VDC's Dancin' 2013 Recitals at 12:00 and 4:30. Wear tights, ribbons, leotards or anything else to celebrate St. Patricks Day! Just make sure it does not restrict you from dancing.
