When schools close or bus routes change due to hazardous weather, you want to know as quickly as possible. There are several ways to get the news on snowy or icy days:

Vaccines Required

Exclusion Day 2/20/13

Letters are being sent out to all 7th grade parents who have not updated their students with the Tdap vaccination, or rather the whooping cough vaccine.

Oregon Law has added requirements for the school year 2012-2013.  Your child should have this additional vaccine by January 2013 to avoid being excluded from school. State wide Exclusion day is February 20, 2013. Please, please do not wait till the last minute. Because doctor's offices may be overloaded. It's happened before.

Tdap which is: Tetanus, Diphtheria an Acellular Pertussis (Whooping Cough) has been on the rise in recent years. It is most dangerous for babies. The CDC recommends that all adults should get the booster shot because it is so contagious.

Whooping cough typically begins with cold-like symptoms such as fever, a runny nose and is accompanied by a mild cough that grows more severe by the first or second week. A high-pitched whoop, giving the illness it's name and can follow violent coughing fits.

If you do not have a personal physician you can call our local Health Center at Sheldon High for an appointment at (541) 790-6644. They are there for our 4j families. They can bill your insurance, or if you cannot pay, they will work with you.
