2014 marks the 25th year that the Food Bank has been feeding those in need in our community. From a single ice cream truck in 1989, to distributing over 6 million pounds of food in 2013, the journey has been amazing. "Looking back is not what this Silver Anniversary is about," says Carl Hansen, CEO. "It's looking forward to the legacy we will leave. It's about what we do now. What difference does nutritious food make in the future of the lives we touch today?" Hunger is a community-wide issue and each year we strive to provide more nutritious food to help people lead healthier, more productive lives. Your continued partnership will help provide the legacy for our next 25 years.
The Birthday festivities are open to the public on Tuesday, February 25th from 3 PM to 5 PM at the Paso Robles Warehouse (2212 Golden Hill Road). Join us for an afternoon of games, giveaways, refreshments and of course birthday cake! There will also be a fun resource fair to experience the Food Banks many programs and services.
Come meet and greet our staff and representatives from our agency partners. Help us celebrate the work we do together in alleviating hunger and building a healthier community in San Luis Obispo County.
