Greetings!
Merry, happy, joy, peace, hope - these are some of the words that we use to describe this time of year. Isn't it ironic that such feelings are associated with the darkest, coldest, and harshest weather of the year? I've been thinking a lot about that lately. Our holiday theme this year at the Food Bank has been about Hope. What does Hope have to do with food? Why does a person stressed because of the harshness they live with every day become hopeful (as we claim) when they receive nutritious food from a caring neighbor? I'd like to share some thoughts with you if you'd like to read my blog this month. And don't be afraid to add your own thoughts in response! Happy Holidays to all!

Albertson Dinners!
Did you donate during Albertson's holiday giving campaign? The campaign raised over 600 holiday dinners complete with a fully cooked turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, and a pack of Hawaiian rolls. What a great way to make sure a family in need has a hot nutritious and delicious holiday meal! Our sincere thanks to Albertson's stores across the county and the gracious members of our community.

Welcome Our New Staff
Tim Parker, North County Warehouse Manager I studied History and Philosophy at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, before spending several years in the Central Coast's wine industry. While working in the private sector, I felt a growing desire to affect social change in my efforts and was blessed with the opportunity to begin working for The Food Bank Coalition earlier this year. I am truly excited to be involved with an organization that helps meet the needs of my friends and neighbors in San Luis Obispo County and I look forward to supporting the growth and efficiency of our programs, as well as working with the many wonderful staff and volunteers who make them possible.
