  AYSA would like to remind all clubs, coaches and players of a few important upcoming dates:

  

HAPPY THANKSGIVING:

From all of us at AYSA, we hope that you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday!  Whether traveling for a tournament, or staying home this year, please be safe!  Please Note:  The AYSA office will be closed at Noon on Wednesday, November 26th and the office will be closed the entire day on Friday, November 28th. 

 

 

CONCUSSION POLICY:

AYSA would like to remind all administrators, coaches, parents and players of our Concussion Policy.  This important document can be found here.  Reminder:  A player may only return to play if the concussion form is signed by an MD or a DO.  No exceptions to this policy shall be granted.

 

 

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING:

The Arizona Youth Soccer Association Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Saturday, January 24th at the Francisco Grande Resort in Casa Grande, Arizona.  Please monitor the AYSA website as additional information will be posted as warranted.


 

SUSPENSION REPORTING:

Effective immediately, all send off report suspensions will be posted on the AYSA website (azyouthsoccer.org), under the Administration tab, Suspensions drop down tab. The information posted will include the date of the infraction, the player's ID #, the team & club, the violation and the number of games the player/coach is suspended, in accordance with the AYSA Red Card Policy. This new procedure will replace individual emails to coaches and team managers.  Please click here for additional information


 
 

 

AYSA - "KICKIN' IT AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

LOWELL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

 

Arizona Youth Soccer Association has been pleased to present an After School Program called, "Kickin' it After School!"  Last spring, a six-week course was completed at Lowell Elementary School in Phoenix.  As a result of the program and involvement of school Principal Mr. Tyson Kelly, many of the students involved formed their own team in collaboration with the Futbolito Bimbo Soccer Club.  KPHO, channel 5 (CBS) in Phoenix filed a report regarding the success of this program...

DOC TALK WITH BANNER CONCUSSION CENTER:

  

An early Happy Thanksgiving from the BCC family to yours! We are very happy to announce a new addition to our team here at the Banner Concussion Center - Dr. John DenBoer, Ph.D.

 

Dr. DenBoer is a neuropsychologist and sport psychologist. He brings a passion for working with athletes and is very excited to work with AYSA! We have turned the column over to him this month - ENJOY!

SUPPORT NEW SOCCER FIELDS IN TUCSON

 

There is a bond advisory meeting this Friday, November 21st at 8:00am at the Arizona River Park Inn (350 S. Freeway). 

 

Parents and coaches in soccer attire are requested to attend this meeting to publicly support the Rillito Park proposal to construct new soccer fields in Tucson.

ARIZONA BASED SCHOOLS & PLAYERS PARTICIPATING IN THE 2014 NCAA SOCCER TOURNAMENTS

 

Congratulations to the Northern Arizona University, Arizona State University and to the University of Arizona Women's Soccer Teams for being selected to the tournament.

AYSA PARTNERSHIP WITH MAXINMOTION� TO FINANCIALLY AID YOUTH SOCCER CLUBS & PLAYERS:

 

Arizona ODP Players to Demonstrate Support

 

Arizona Youth Soccer Association is pleased to announce that our ODP (Olympic Development Program) will demonstrate their support of the MaxInMotion� Foundation this year. 

 

AYSA will host the Region IV ODP Championships at the Reach 11 Sports Complex in Phoenix, Janauary 8-11, 2015.  In an effort to salute and thank the Foundation, all Arizona players uniforms will bear the MaxInMotion logo.

 

This year, the MaxInMotion Foundation awarded 581 Grants totaling nearly $150,000 to AYSA players to help offset the cost of participating in youth soccer.  This represented the single largest monetary donation to AYSA.

AYSA AGREES TO PARTNER WITH WILSON TROPHY COMPANY

Wilson to provide Awards for State Cup & Presidents Cup Competitions

 

Arizona Youth Soccer Association is honored to announce a three-year sponsorship agreement with Wilson Trophy Company. Effective immediately and through the next three years, Wilson Trophy Company has been named, "The Official Award Supplier of Arizona Youth Soccer."

 

Under the partnership, Wilson Trophy will provide all awards and medals for the Arizona State Cup Championships and Arizona Presidents Cup competitions. Additionally, Wilson Trophy will be on-hand at various AYSA events with an on-site display and will sample their products to AYSA members and administrators...

Sereno Coach named Region IV Competitive Coach of the Year!

FRISCO, Texas (Nov. 12, 2014) - US Youth Soccer is proud to announce the 2014 regional award winners from US Youth Soccer Region IV. Nine individuals from the region were recognized for giving their time and effort over the past year to help advance the game of soccer at their organizations and within their communities.

AYSA OLYMPIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM:

 

The 2014/15 Arizona Olympic Development Program is off to a roaring start as 750 young players participated in tryouts back in August.  The first pool training session for those selected will be on the weekend of December 6-7,2014 at the Grande Sports World in Casa Grande, Arizona.

 

 

US YOUTH SOCCER - REGION IV ODP CHAMPIONSHIPS:

 

AYSA will host the upcoming Region IV ODP Championships this year at the Reach 11 Sports Complex - January 8-11, 2015.  To host an event like this requires a lot of support from our soccer community.  If you would like to volunteer at this event, please contact AYSA.  Thank you for your support!

 

  

AYSA ODP & CLUB PLAYER SIGNS YOUTH CONTRACT WITH FAMED MANCHESTER UNITED

 

Josh Doughty formerly of CCV Stars. Sereno, Arizona ODP & the

RSL Academy has signed with Manchester United

 

Josh Doughty, who grew-up playing for CCV Stars, Sereno, Arizona 97B ODP and for the Real Salt Lake Academy has signed a contract with Manchester United.  Josh will be off to join the Red Devils U-21 team starting in January 2015. 

 

Doughty was born in Canada, however his family relocated to the Phoenix area when he was four years old.  In addition to being a part of Manchester United, Josh also is also currently a member of the U-20 Men's National team player pool for Canada.  Good luck Josh, keep working hard...  Arizona is very proud of you!

ARIZONA UNITED SC - STUDENT OF THE GAME PROGRAM: 

  

Arizona United Soccer Club would like to welcome Tigres Soccer Club as the newest member of the "Student of the Game" program.


 

"What drew our interest to Arizona United SC, was to provide more soccer education to my players and to my club," said Tigres Soccer Club President Heladio Mendoza. "The kids are very inspired by professional soccer players and to see Arizona United professional players will help our kids see themselves as being those professional players in the future. It will give our kids the professional tools of coaches and players who have experience in the professional level.


 

"The "Student of the Game" program provides youth soccer clubs and leagues with an education-based curriculum. It's designed to assist clubs, entry level coaches, parents and players in further development of their soccer knowledge and teaching. One aspect of the program has our partners observing closed-door training sessions with Arizona United. This will allow for players and coaches to further their knowledge by watching high-level professional soccer. The program allows youth soccer players in Arizona to experience what it's like to be a professional soccer player...
