  AYSA would like to remind all clubs, coaches and players of a few important upcoming dates:

 

 

INJURY REPORTING (2013-14 SEASON):

All injury reports MUST be completed in full and submitted within 30 days of the date of any injury. There will be NO exceptions to this policy. This is a requirement in order for any subsequent medical claim form to be approved. NOTE:  Injury Report Foms are NOT the "Medical Claim Form".  Medial Claim forms can be found here  (Select Arizona Youth Soccer Association) and should be submitted seperately if needed.  Please contact the AYSA office with any questions.

 

 

ANNOUNCEMENT OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING:

Arizona Youth Soccer Association would like to formally announce our upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM).  This will take place on Saturday evening, Janaury 25th at the Francisco Grande Hotel & Golf Resort in Casa Grande, Arizona.

 

 

ARIZONA COACH ASSISTS WITH PARALYMPICS:

Ramiz Sabljic, Assistant Coach at Grand Canyon University and the Director of Coaching at Phoenix Premier Soccer Club has become a coaching (GK) staff member for the United States Paralympic Soccer Team!  Ramiz just returned from a week-long training camp at the Stub Hub Center in Los Angeles.  Congratulations and well done coach!

 

 

PRESIDENTS CUP REGISTRATION:

Registration for the 2014 Arizona President Cup - Presented by Sports Authority is now open!  The deadline to register is Saturday, February 1st.  Note:  This is a Developmental end of season Cup competition.  All teams are eligible to enter except teams from the Chipotle State League, First Division.

Registration is now open for the 2014 Arizona State Cup competion.  The deadline to enter is Satuday, March 1st.

US YOUTH SOCCER - REGION IV
ODP CHAMPIONSHIPS - REVIEW
 
The 2014 US Youth Soccer Region IV ODP Championships were held January 9-12 at the Reach 11 Sports Complex in Phoenix. 102 teams from througout the Region (Alaska, Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, CalNorth, CalSouth, Idaho, Utah, Montana, Utah, New Mexico and Arizona participated in both boys and girs action...

TOPSOCCER WANTS YOU!:

 

AYSA is looking to expand our TOPSoccer Program.  If you know of anyone who is looking for an opportunity to participate, based on the criteria of the program, please have them contact Laila Modi (Scottsdale area), or Gary Fallon (North Phoenix). 

 

What is TOPSoccer?

TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a community based program that is designed to meet the needs of children and young adults that have physical and/or intellectual disabilities.The program is geared towards player development rather than to competition .The program is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to anyone aged 5 and older, who has a mental or physical disability.
The basis of TOPSoccer is a modified version of the game of soccer, specifically altered to allow full participation and enjoyment for each athlete.
 
What are the program's benefits?
1. Development of motor skills and improved physical fitness.
2. Promotes social skills by teaching teamwork and cooperation
3. Provides safe participation and fair play.
4. Develops positive self-concepts through experiences in discipline, initiative and achievement, which encourage children to fully realize their potential.
5. To have FUN!
 
Who is eligible for TOPSoccer?
Any player aged 5 and older having a physical or mental disability that limits their ability to perform at the level of play they have chosen to participate. Emphasis of this program is on development, training, and providing meaningful participation rather than on competition.

KOHL'S US YOUTH SOCCER - AMERICAN CUP:
 
Arizona Soccer Club out of Gilbert, Arizona will host the Kohl's US Youth Soccer American Cup, the largest recreational youth soccer tournament in the United States, at Discovery & Crossroads Park on March 29-30th. The Under-7 through Under-14 boys and girls participating will bring together teams for the first annual Kohl's American Cup held in Arizona.
