The Orleans Parish School Board held its regular monthly Committee Meetings on Thursday, January 14, 2016, at the OPSB Timbers Office Building, 3520 General DeGaulle Drive.
Committees typically review issues prior to the items being presented to the full Board at a subsequent meeting. Committees also review the progress of the implementation of items previously approved by the full Board.
On Tuesday, January 19, the Board will hold its regular Board Business Meeting at 5:00 p.m. in the Auditorium of the new McDonogh 35 High School, 4000 Cadillac Street. A Public Hearing on Policy Matters will be held at 4:30 p.m. prior to the Business Meeting. Board meetings are live streamed and archived here.

- Bethune ES & Tureaud ES Stabilization - Bids in pending Board acceptance
- Easton HS - Refurbishment - current project 99 % complete and will be closed-out
- If other leaks persist, solution will be a separate follow-up project
- Harte ES New School - being closed out
- McMain HS New Gym - gas line being repaired
- McMain HS Roof and Repairs - work proceeding on schedule
- Moton ES New School - move-in date not finalized but most leaks have been resolved
- Nelson ES Refurbishment - substantial completion will be this spring
- Karr HS New School - GMP for Phase 1 of demolition has been finalized

- Guaranteed Maximum Price for demolition of former Jo Ellen Smith Medical Center - Phase 1
- CORE Construction - GMP = $ 3,245,970
- Phase I includes the following:

- Demolition of former Jo Ellen Smith Hospital and medical office buildings
- Carrollton Courthouse
- Public invited to showing of architecture schools' concepts of potential future uses of the site
