The Jefferson Parish School Board met in Board Special Session on Tuesday, June 30, 2015, in the Administration Building, 501 Manhattan Blvd., Harvey. Prior to the Special Session Meeting, the Board Executive Committee met to review the items up for consideration at the Special Session.

Executive Committee Meeting 
Reviewed and discussed each item listed and approved for each to be forward to the full Board for approval
    1. Updated information and corrected account codes for some amounts
    1. Update information                     
    1. Added amendment for raises to be 3-tiered as 10% or 15% or 20% depending upon evaluation after first year
    2. Some objectives are subjective and some are objective based upon student achievement
    3. Suggestions from Board included adding objectives on Kindergarten readiness after Pre-K and maintenance or improvement in District Performance Score
  4. Reschedule July Regular Board Meeting from July 1, 2015 to July 15, 2015    
    1. Attempt to recover 2.75% annual growth adjustment in MFP for FY 2012-2013 and 2013-2014
    2. Fee = 10% of recovery
  7. Flood Insurance Renewal for the new gym at Grand Isle School
  8. Renewal of contract for Advanced Placement College Success Community (CSC) with Mass Insight

Special Session Board Meeting
Approved all items previously reviewed by Executive Committee earlier and took other actions as indicated
  2. Approve and amend Special Revenue Fund Budgets, 2014-2015                              
    1. Added amendment for raises to be 3-tiered as 10% or 15% or 20% depending upon evaluation after first year
    2. Vote was 8 to 1 as one Board member thought that that a 10% raise should be the maximum  
  4. Reschedule July Regular Board Meeting from July 1, 2015 to July 15, 2015

    3. Vote was 8 to 1 as one Board member was opposed to suing the State

    1. Extend the Dandridge Settlement Agreement from June 30, 2015 to a date to be selected by the Board
      1. Board extended  it to September 30, 2015

    2. Litigation update on the case of Oil Spill by Oil Rig Deep Water Horizon

      1. No action taken at open meeting
