    • Approved Contract Amendments - Nine contracts in total - $ 793,510 - True-ups and post-bid adjustments in architectural/engineering (A/E) contracts
      • RSD, OPSB and most other state and local public agencies use the State's adopted fee formula to determine A/E
      • Fees are initially estimated based upon early estimates of costs and scopes and thereafter are adjusted based upon actual costs and scopes.

School Innovation and Turnaround Committee - RSD Management Issues

    • 2015 OneApp Round One Summary Report
      • Received and discussed the report
      • Staff reported that a video on the OneAPP/EnrollNOLA process will be prepared to assist parents use the system
      • Late enrollment begins July 8
        • Staff promised a better system than last summer
        • Reported more parents are seeing public schools as a viable option for their children
      • One parent advocate expressed several concerns and/or suggestions
        • Catchment Areas are too large, especially # 5
          • Do not really create "neighborhood" preferences
        • Top choice schools tend to be those with fewer poor and more white children
        • Many families do not trust the enrollment system
        • OPSB should be allowed to open more schools around town because parents seem to favor OPSB schools over RSD schools
      • One parent alleged that his private phone number was given by the OneAPP office to a Type 5 charter to recruit his child because the school had 30 unfilled vacancies
        • Staff will meet with him to discuss
        • Staff said such an action would have been improper
      • One person complained about a lack of trust for the staff at a closing charter school with regards to the reassignment of its students
