The Orleans Parish School Board held a Special Board Meeting at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2015, in Room 4050 of OPSB's Timbers III Office Building, 3520 General DeGaulle Drive.

The agenda for the meeting, which can be read here, has been summarized by OPSBrief below:

    • OPSB President Seth Bloom said that the Board failed to elect anyone at its last meeting due to the lack of time to interview the candidates and research their credentials

  • Appointment of Interim District 1 Board Member
    • Elected John Brown as Interim District Board Member by unanimous vote on the first ballot
    • Necessary due to resignation of Ira Thomas

  • Executive Session regarding potential litigation over contractor's claim of construction delay damages on the new Moton Elementary School
