The Orleans Parish School Board held its monthly Board Business Meeting on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at 5:00 p.m. in the Mack Spears Auditorium of the McDonogh 35 High School, 1331 Kerlerec Street. Presentations Received staff reports and recognized accomplishments with no formal action needed
- Received Andrew "Pete" and Janice Sanchez as 2015 Zulu King and Queen
- Mr. and Mrs. Sanchez stressed their lifetime associations with NOPS and Zulu's extensive involvement supporting schools, students, and the music and other cultural programs
- November 2014 Financial Statements
- Received the report from the Administration
- Comprehensive Review of OPSB Policy Manual
- Received a report from the Administration on plans to update the manual on an on-going basis for compliance with changing laws and regulations
- FY 2015 Allocation of Unpaid Settlements and Judgments
- Received a report from the General Counsel on the risks of pulling one case out of the backlog of unresolved resolved cases
- Heard a delegation from a group of 10 employees whose lawsuit over past vacation pay had been settled but remains unpaid
- Recognized McMain Music Teacher Mrs. Veronica Downs-Dorsey as NOLA Gospel 2015 Trailblazer Award Recipient
