The Orleans Parish School Board is offering authorized charter operators an opportunity to preview some of its surplus and vacant school buildings prior to scheduling its next round of public auctions.
Under State law and OPSB policy, the Board may sell at fair market value any of its surplus school properties to charters without the necessity of using the normal public auction or sealed bid processes. Also by Board policy, the proceeds of surplus property sales are deposited in the revenues of the OPSB Capital Projects Budget and have been recently used to acquire new sites or to expand existing but undersized sites.

These preview dates are exclusively for authorized charter operators. Before arrival, charters should RSVP and obtain a waiver with the OPSB Charter Office at sean_perkins@opsb.us.
Persons previewing buildings should wear closed-toed shoes and bring a flashlight and protection from dust and small particles.
Charters interested in any vacant properties not listed for this preview may contact the Charter Office for more information. A recent report on all OPSB vacant property can be read here.
