The Orleans Parish School Board has scheduled three public forums next week to gather input for its search for a new Superintendent. The purpose of the sessions is to learn what skills and characteristics are desired for the new Superintendent.
Representatives from Hazard, Young, Attea and Associates, the consultants hired to manage the search, will conduct the sessions
November 12, 13 and 14. Each session will begin at
6 p.m. at the following locations:
- November 12 - New Orleans East Public Library, 5641 Read Boulevard
- November 13 - McDonogh 35 High School, 1331 Kelerec Street
- November 14 - Landry-Walker High School, 1200 L. B. Landry Drive
The consultants will also meet individually with OPSB members and staff and conduct focus groups for key stakeholders, including education officials and advocates, public officials, business groups and faith-based organizations. Special forums are scheduled for teachers and PTO leaders.
Individuals are also encouraged to complete the online survey via the OPSB website here by November 13. The survey is available in four languages: English, French, Spanish and Vietnamese.
