The Orleans Parish School Board held Committee Meetings on Thursday, September 12, 2013, at the OPSB Timbers Office Building, 3520 General De Gaulle Drive. Agendas and back-up documentation can be read by clicking on the names of the respective Committees. The Committee Meetings included the Accountability and Budget & Finance Committees; the Facilities Foundation; and the Committee of the Whole. A meeting of the Property Committee was originally scheduled but was later cancelled; its substantive agenda items were scheduled for discussion at the Budget & Finance Committee meeting later in the afternoon. Meetings for the Policy and Legal & Legislative Committees were not scheduled. Committees typically review and discuss issues likely to come before the full Board at a later meeting and review the progress of the implementation of previously approved items. OPSBrief has summarized below the items discussed during the meetings. Two important events are being scheduled by OPSB for next week, both of which will be held at McDonogh 35 HS, 1331 Kerlerec Street: - Monday, September 16, at 4:00 p.m. - Public Hearing on new charter school applications
- Tuesday, September 17, at 5:00 p.m. - September Board Business Meeting
FINAL CHANCE!!! This is our final reminder, so please take a moment to take this short survey to let us know how we're doing and how we can improve our reporting!
