This report is created by Ken Ducote and Rose Drill-Peterson on behalf of the Eastbank Collaborative of Charter Schools

Greetings!

The Master Plan Oversight Committee is tentatively planning a meeting for this Thursday, May 9th, at 6:30 p.m. in the 4th Floor Conference of the Orleans Parish School Board's Timbers III Office Building, 3520 General DeGaulle Drive. Formal public notice and the meeting's agenda will be posted before then. The OPSBrief and RSDigest will be published both on the agenda prior to the meeting and later on the meeting's actual proceedings.

The Oversight Committee has not met in over one year. However, in the meantime, RSD and OPSB have continued to issue monthly progress reports  on the Master Plan projects, followed by detailed quarterly reports about schedules, budgets, contracts, and other project particulars (read here).

The Master Plan, as approved by OPSB and BESE in 2008 and reaffirmed with amendments in 2011, provides for the following schedule of updating (see page 47, here)

Annually - last updated 2011
  • Revenue projections
  • Cost estimates
  • Implementation schedule
Every two years - last updated 2011
  • Population projections
  • City's recovery progress
  • Major public and private housing developments
  • Land use patterns
Every five years - last updated 2008 with some tweaking in 2011
  • Educational program trends
  • Plan revision as circumstances indicate
