The Orleans Parish School Board held a Special Board Meeting on Monday, April 8, at its Timbers Office Building. The agenda for the meeting can be read here.
Action Item
Discussed Superintendent's recommendation and took action as indicated.
- Single-Event Suspension of OPSB Policy E500 for Hynes Charter School Fair
- Approved policy suspension for April 20 School Fair
- Allows sale of beer by certified professional servers
- Fair is a fund-raiser for planned new playground structures not covered by FEMA funds
- Administration will develop for Board consideration policy incentives for schools to raise funds not covered by FEMA and other Master Plan funding
Executive Session
Recessed into Executive Session to discuss litigation, reconvened in Open Session and took action as indicated
- Insurance Litigation - Settlement with Aon Risk Services, Inc
- Approved settlement recommended by counsel, subject to court approval
- Settlement will be public after court approval
