Febuary 2016

2016 marks the 100th anniversary of America's National Parks and yearlong celebrations are marking this milestone. I can't imagine operating a tour that doesn't include at least one of these national treasures, and most of our tours incorporate multiple parks, historic sites, monuments or some other designated area under its jurisdiction.    I ran into the National Park System's most vociferous advocate last month in Louisville:  Teddy Roosevelt himself, promoting Legendary North Dakota where he made his home on the way to the presidency.

Fort Mandan Lewis & Clark Trail
North Dakota native, Josh Duhamel is the new spokesman for his home state and what we've heard and read so far is really impressive!  Found this great promo on Facebook about Fort Mandan, one of my favorite sites on the Lewis & Clark Trail.   Makes you want to go there!

Buffalo Roundup
Sept. 28-Oct. 3, 2016

Most people picture buffalo in their summer habitat:  grazing serenely on green prairie grass, or raising dust during the roundup with blue skies overhead.  So I thought you might like to see how the buffalo live in winter.  Wind Cave National Park (adjacent to Custer State Park) posted this video on Facebook recently.  If you're thinking about joining us this fall for the roundup, don't wait too long to register.  This popular program always fills up fast.

Tour Preview

We're getting ready to head the "wagons" west again in August with a shortened six-day itinerary of the Oregon Trail, which launched our Vanishing Trails Expeditions series back in 1994.  Full details will be released in our March newsletter, but here's a preview for those who can't wait!

Feel free to contact us with any questions at 800-888-8306.

We look forward to seeing you on the trail this season.

Happy Trails!
