November 2014

In the travel business, we are always looking ahead - making plans for tours months, and even years down the road.  But as busy as we are, it is still time to pause and reflect on our blessings.  We are thankful to all of you who we work with and travel with for making this an incredible year at Shebby Lee Tours.

Featured Tour:  Lewis & Clark Trail Lewis & Clark Trail sign

Registration is now open for the 2015 departure of this iconic American story ( July 31-August 15).  Here's what some of this year's participants had to say about this once-in-a-lifetime experience:

"We just wanted to let you know how happy we are to have taken the Lewis and Clark journey.  Not only did we learn so much about the Corps of Discovery and see parts of the country we had never seen before, we got to meet a group of very nice, interesting and fun people.  All in all we had a wonderful time!"
    - Sherry Fitzpatrick, Burlington, MA

"This was one of the best planned, best delivered, and most fun trips I have ever been on!  I learned so much & loved every minute of it.
 - Carol Walker, Calgary, AB

"Many, many thanks for a fun, interesting and very informative tour.  I enjoyed it immensely.  I hope to be able to travel with you again.  It has been a most memorable time"
    - Jerry Ralenkotter, Cold Spring, KY

Sioux Falls CVB Earns Kudos

South Dakota has been racking up the awards lately.  In August Secretary of Tourism, Jim Hagen, was named State Tourism Director of the Year by the U.S. Travel Association's National Council of State Tourism Directors.  September brought the news that Custer State Park's annual Buffalo Roundup had been selected as the Top Event of the Year by the American Bus Association, and now this:  the Sioux Falls CVB earned honorable mention as a National Emerging Destination AND as a DMO in Groups Today Magazine's Readers Choice Awards.  Way to go Sioux Falls!

Group Travel Leader - TAP Issue

Hot off the presses!  This year's TAP issue of the Group Travel Leader is only one mouse click away.  It's chock full of tour ideas, destinations, and information on the Travel Alliance Partners themselves.  Enjoy!  Then give us a call to help make your travel dreams come true.

Sometimes I wind up with more blogs than I have room for on the calendar.  The last two blogs scheduled for this year were bumped by more topical entries, pertaining to -  well, travel.  So as the year winds down and space allows, I'll include one or two bonus Trail Talks about subjects that have been on my mind.
