Quote of the Month |
Every bridge is at once functional and symbolic;
it connects, separates, and creates a neutral interim;
it mediates between one place and another. To cross a bridge, any bridge, is to set sail on a little expedition, which, like all expeditions, liberates you, if only for a while, from the mundane.

One of the coolest things about my job is there is absolutely no chance that I will be stuck in the office all summer! While I can't lead all the tours myself, I am the boss - so I get first choice! Just this month I'm leading a group through Legendary North Dakota (the first of four groups there this summer) plus the Black Hills of South Dakota. Then I'll do the Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in Cooperstown, NY, before
heading to St. Louis to begin the 16-day Lewis & Clark Trail. Hope I'll get to see you on the trail somewhere this season!

El Camino Real
April 16-22, 2015
Also known as the Royal Road to the Interior, El Camino Real followed Indian trails based on paths created by centuries of migrating animals - much like the development of all of North America. But this one had a difference: it introduced a culture and religion to the West unlike any other to date. Make plans now to join us next spring as we follow this trail along the Rio Grande from El Paso to Santa Fe, New Mexico.
