Quote of the Month

Lewis envisioned a relationship with the Indians exclusively based on the fur trade, which meant leaving them in exclusive possession of their lands. If settlers were allowed to enter Indian lands, there would be no fur trade. Lewis was a businessman rather than an expansionist.

Greetings!

Another successful buffalo roundup is now in the record books and plans are well underway for 2013 (see below).  Spectacular fall weather greeted us every day and everyone went home with memories of a truly unique western experience.  If you are contemplating joining the fun next fall, or if you want to relive this year's adventure, here's a brief video of this year's roundup.  Enjoy!

2013 Buffalo Roundup Dates Changed

Custer State Park buffalo roundup
This year's roundup produced more than a few surprises - not the least of which was the sudden announcement that next year's event will be held on a Friday after traditionally being on a Monday for decades.  Because the roundup itself will now preceed the other events, we had to scramble a little to accommodate the new dates but all arrangements are now completed and the new dates and itinerary are now online. Please note that the new dates for this one-of-a-kind program are Sept. 25-30.
Lewis & Clark Countdown

Since we made the decision to include the Lewis & Clark Trail on the 2013 schedule (Aug. 2-17) we have received four registrations, four more have requested registration packets and five others have called or otherwise expressed an interest. If you would like to be included, or know somebody who might be interested, please let us know!  We need a minimum of 15 to go.

Tournament of Roses Parade

Rose ParadeWe still have availability for one of the America's most iconic events:  Pasadena's famed Rose Parade.  Based at the luxurious Hyatt Regency Long Beach, this program includes a behind-the-scenes tour of the float decorating, a festive New Year's celebration, reserved grandstand seating for the Parade and much more!  Request your registration packet today!
International Peace Garden

 International Peace Garden

In the Supplier Spotlight this month is the world's only International Peace Garden, established in 1932 on the US border between North Dakota and Manitoba. We'll be exploring the beauty of this 2,339 acre botanical garden with it's 150,000 flowers July 21-27 in Legendary North Dakota.

What If?

What if

Custer had over 600 men under his command at the Little Big Horn in June of 1876, was well-informed about the enemy's numbers and knew where they were. So why did he divide his troops into three columns and ride into the valley of the Little Big Horn with only one quarter of the men he had with him on what amounted to a joy ride into the Black Hills two years previously?

Feel free to contact us with any questions at 800-888-8306.

We look forward to seeing you on the trail this season.
