TO: EWKC/HPwES Auditors
MEC has been notified by the City of Kansas City, MO that the City has received a no-cost extension for the EnergyWorks KC program to September 30, 2013. The scope of services and budget for the program will require adjustment to extend the program for six months beyond March. The City has indicated that it may be possible to increase the budget line for EWKC performance rebates for residential, multi-family, and commercial buildings. (Currently, the budget for performance incentives has ~$100k remaining, not counting applications that are in the pipeline).
Please help the planning for this option by estimating the total amount of rebates that you have in the pipeline, either already submitted and unpaid, or associated with existing analysis or improvement work that you expect will be complete by March 31, 2013 - the date the program was slated to begin closing, and how many will not be complete by then, but will have already started the process. Be sure to consider the likelihood that a project will reach 15%, 20%, or 30% and above and include the analyst bonus in your estimate. The estimate is only for rebates, not for loan amounts.
If at all possible, provide your estimate by email to tim.kemper@kcenergy.org by this Thursday, March 14, by 9am. You do not need to include names or addresses, an estimate of numbers and dollars is sufficient for planning.
We will notify the network immediately, once a decision has been made about the budget and the timeline for the EWKC performance rebates.
Continue to advise customers that funds remain for EWKC rebates on a first-come-first-served basis. EWKC financing is also available and not subject to the rebate budget.
We appreciate your effort to inform this process. Feel free to email or call me with questions.
Sincerely,
Tim Kemper
