Duration: 15 weeks (30 total classes) Experience Level: No prior experience needed! This approach is for any artist, whether this is your very first acting class, or even if you've been in the industry for years. The great thing about this approach is that even though everyone begins the approach from the beginning, each artist is on their own path and you can work at your level. OVERVIEW At Truthful Acting, we wholeheartedly believe in the words of Sanford Meisner when he said, "Who you truly are is magnificent and totally unique." Through this program of study, we will guide you in discovering your own unique perspective and assist you in becoming more present, authentic and responsive to the world around you. We will work toward becoming the full expression of everything that is happening as it is happening. Utilizing a series of progressive exercises, you will learn to trust your instincts and live truthfully under imaginary circumstances.
Classes begin May 7th and will be held twice a week on Tuesday and Friday with daytime or nighttime classes available.

He comes from a rich family but struggles to fulfill his dream from his tormented past. Hazel-eyes preferred. Parker is friends with everyone and MUST BE LIKEABLE. There is nothing Parker wouldn't do for his girlfriend Kori. Must know how to surf and be able to evoke a WIDE VARIETY of emotion on the spot. This role will require a lot of your time and need to come as a priority when we begin filming. SERIOUS, DEDICATED, ACTORS need only apply. KORI - (24) a hazel-eyed, dark haired goddess with the innocence and vulnerability only a virgin could possess. Kori is Parkers' long time girlfriend. From the outside she looks perfect but with a second glance it is obvious she is damaged. Very naive and cautious. She has had a rough life until she met Parker. He is her rock, her lover, her everything. OZ - (28) an obnoxious git who has a weird obsession with Parker. and is constantly seeking his approval. Oz tries way too hard. Muscle-bond and full of rage. Total D-bag, but someone you want on your side. Arrogant, loud, and tries way too hard. MILES - (25) a good-looking, long-haired surf rat who has been best friends with Parker since birth. Boyfriend of Mischa. Very laid back and nonchalant about everything. Typical surfer bro. Blonde, long hair with a dark tan. Epitomizes this culture. MISCHA - (23) a hot blonde with a great body and the ability to rip waves. Miles and Mischa have been dating since high school. She is a Roxy model and total bitch. Very competitive and opposite of Miles. High strung and sometimes annoying when she doesn't get her own way. Rich and spoiled. KIRA - (16) a blonde headed (maybe red) perfect picture of a young teenage girl surfer. Sweet as can be but if evoked can be fatal. Kira is the sweet surfer girl next door. Very young but very mature. There is something strange and almost fake about her. She is almost too sweet. SASHA - (Late 20s) A surf-rat with a vicious attitude. Her hatred towards men and arrogant demeanor are almost as evident as her sex appeal. ROCA - (Late 20s )He is of Jamaican decent and very funny. Good comedic timing is a must. Long dread locks and an easy going demeanor. JESSE - (30s) The bad ass. A bald head muscle bond angry surfer. He doesn't say much but his actions speak louder than most peoples words. WATSON - (30s) An overgrown softy that bows down to the feet of Kira. Security guard type with force from power alone, not skill. DR. PARKER (50s) - Dr. Parker is middle-aged but has maintained his boyish good looks. He is very wealthy and consumed by temptation. He is very rational and close-minded; a very conservative republican. MRS. PARKER - (Late 20s-Early 30s) Surfer mom. Very sweet with an award winning smile. Loving, caring, beautiful. She has a gypsy soul with a heart of gold. DENISE - (50s) She is small and petite but has seen the toughest of fights. Her stoic demeanor is matched by her vast knowledge and wisdom. Think of her as the "Guardian Angel" type. She is soft spoken but speaks with a punch; very poetic and heartfelt. MARCUS (Late 20s)- His hustle is almost as powerful as his network. Marcus is the main connect for most of the town. He has a lot of money and is constantly on the go. Must have a gangster swag. ALLIE* (21) - Allie is the younger sister of Oz. She must be adorable and intriguing to the eye. DETAILS: Ellen Jacoby, one of the most in-demand casting directors in the industry, will hold an intensive two-day workshop appropriate for anyone in grade five through adult who are working in or aspiring to work in the film business.
Topics covered will include understanding and maneuvering through the film business, dissecting and comparing copy for auditions, and developing reliable on-camera acting techniques. Additionally, Jacoby will provide valuable recommendations on career moves.
Jacoby, the Patel Conservatory's resident casting director, is known for casting feature films such as Cape Fear, Contact, True Lies and There's Something About Mary. Meisner/Method/Game-based Core class is a comprehensive exploration into the essential elements of film acting: spontaneous exchange of energy, trading fear for freedom, using your own unique authenticity and depth to bring a character to life; heightening your personal power in the industry, advanced marketing strategies for getting cast, professional cold reading techniques, monologues, and scene analysis.
