building where the family lives.) Foul-mouthed and tough, but
fun-loving and goodhearted. She ages throughout the play. Could be

Malcolm (Supporting) Dixie's
trouble-making son. We see him sporadically throughout Act 1.

Bill (supporting) An all around "nice
guy." Enamored of Louise,
though his feelings are

sister, 10 years her junior. We do not meet her until Act 2. 8-11

a year, Broadway Workshop along with our non-profit arm, Project
Broadway produces a huge full scale musical in an Off-Broadway theatre
venue in New York City. For 2013, Broadway Workshop was lucky to
attain the rights to the Broadway Version of XANADU. Our production
will mark the first NYC staging of XANADU since the 2007 Tony Award
Nominated Broadway production.
We know
our production XANADU is going to be the most exciting, entertaining
and fun musical we have ever produced and we hope you want to be a

in Broadway's XANADU.
Seeking 2 casts of actors between
the ages on 13-20 to play various leading, featured and ensemble
roles. You do not need to roller skate to audition for this
production. Only A few cast members will be required to roller
skate.
XANADU follows the
journey of a magical and beautiful Greek muse, Kira, who descends from
the heavens of Mt. Olympus to Venice Beach, California in 1980 on a
quest to inspire a struggling artist, Sonny, to achieve the greatest
artistic creation of all time - the first ROLLER DISCO! (Hey, it's
1980!) But, when Kira falls into forbidden love with the mortal Sonny,
her jealous sisters take advantage of the situation and chaos
abounds.
This hilarious,
roller skating, musical adventure about following your dreams despite
the limitations others set for you, rolls along to the original hit
score composed by pop-rock legends Jeff Lynne and John Farrar, and
includes, "Magic", "All Over The World", "Suddenly", "I'm Alive",
"Evil Woman", "Have You Never Been Mellow" and "Xanadu", to name a
few, and is based on the Universal Pictures' cult classic movie of the
same title, which starred Olivia Newton-John and Gene
Kelly.
Broadway Workshop's production will
expand on the original cast. Each cast will have only 20 roles
available. There are many featured male and females roles. XANADU is
great ensemble show, many of the musical numbers will include the full
cast. This will be a full scale production with sets, costumes,
microphones, live band and everything you come to expect from our high
end main stage productions.
XANADU will
be directed by Marc Tumminelli, Choreographed by Casey Leigh Thompson,
Musical Directed by Charlotte Evans and Associate Directed by
Stephanie
