Our six-week courses start next week. There is something for everyone whether you want to draw, sew, paint or make sculptural installations.

Drawing the Abstract Image 
Tues 6pm-9pm, May 19-Jun 23
 
Did you ever marvel at a drawing because of its beautiful lines, marks and textures? This six-week course will show you how to make abstract drawings based on examples of work from the 20th and 21st century.

Drawing with Thread
Tues  2pm-5pm, May 19-Jun 30 (no class Jun 23) 
 
Learn to use a thread and a needle to make intriguing contemporary drawings. No sewing experience is necessary, in fact a lack of sewing skills might result in surprisingly good drawings. Try it and find out.

Enroll in this course and let Xane St Phillip help you discover many exciting ways to make compositions using geometric shapes.

Do you like sculpture and architecture? Installation art gives you a great opportunity to combine the two and create imaginative constructions that fill space.

Painting Fifty Favourite Things, you will discover that potential subject matter is everywhere you look and learn not to treat your work as being too precious.

Art opening at the Baumann Centre

The Baumann Centre is located at 925 Balmoral Road, Victoria, BC

Artists Jane Francis and Jo-Ann Richards are pleased to invite you to celebrate the opening of their exhibit Between Alternatives. The exhibition will be held in the Wingate Studio of the recently opened Baumann Centre. This welcoming space features a carved red cedar acoustic installation created and donated by Kwagiulth and Coast Salish artist Carey Newman. Carey designed this large scale work of art to create a space that is beautiful and inspirational - a community space dedicated to the creation of art and music.
