Jack Southern, educator, writer and artist, will discuss his recent project called Drawing making Making drawing that took place at the Drawing Room, London, UK in early 2014. The Drawing Room is the only public, non-profit gallery in the UK and Europe dedicated to the investigation and presentation of international contemporary drawing. Jack's collaborative project at the Drawing Room is a continuation of the discourses originally developed through working on the textbook Drawing Projects: An Exploration of the Language of Drawing which Jack co-wrote with Mick Maslen.
Jack is also Course Leader in Fine Arts at the University of Gloucestershire and he will speak about the Bachelor and Master programs in Fine Art. Diploma graduates at VISA can complete at Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art at the U of G in eight months.
This will be a great talk to attend if you have an interest in contemporary drawing practice and/or if you want to know more about transferring a VISA diploma to a Bachelor degree in the UK.

Creativity Jumpstart: 50 Drawings Sunday, Nov 9, 1-4pm
(there are still some spaces left)
You will make fifty drawings in this three-hour workshop: drawings of plants, objects, people, landscapes, drawings of drawings, drawing from the imagination, drawings of drawings and drawings on drawings. Materials include pencil, charcoal, pen, and pastel; drawings will be done on a range of surfaces. While fifty drawings might seem like a lot to do within a three-hour time frame, the idea is to create many drawings so no particular one drawing feels precious or stressful. The focus is on experimentation, creativity and having fun. Suitable for beginners.
