It's a common question: "when we come to Duck Bay, do we need a guide"? And it's a tough one to answer. Here are a few things to consider when you're making your decision:
- have you been in the area before? This is an obvious one, but worth asking. A guide can familiarize you with the area and types of structure to look for that are working right now. This can save you a tremendous amount of time, even if you're well experienced.
- are you comfortable driving a boat, or just prefer not to? Your guide will give you tips on boating and navigation. Maybe you just prefer to fish and not drive. He's got you covered.
- are you a first time fisherman or a little rusty on your technique? Casting, jigging or trolling, he'll get you up to speed quickly.
- he'll cook you a fabulous Canadian shore lunch, your fish cooked up fresh.
If you prefer to venture out on your own, that's no problem at all. One of our guides will be pleased to spend time with you going over a chart and your tackle to get you going. No matter which way you go, talk to our guys. Their years of experience are there for the asking. And if you choose to book one of them we guarantee that you won't be disappointed. In fact, most guest book for a second or third day!
And the best time for you to book your guide? At the time of making your reservation! That way we have the best chance to fill any requests you may have as to a specific guide. If you wait until you arrive, our guides may already all be reserved.
