George Tesch and his family have been with us at Duck Bay Lodge since our first year in business in 1990.  In the early years, George took his employees on corporate trips and the group was so large, he selected a resort much larger than Duck Bay.  But for his personal vacations with his family, he preferred a smaller, more personal resort. We take it as a huge compliment that they selected Duck Bay and have been coming up almost every year for 25 years.

 

Over the years, George and wife Beverly brought children George Jr., Stephanie and Georgia, and also their grandchildren, Julia, Henry and Greg.  As time went on, Julia married and husband Chris has been included as well. 

 

In the early 1990's, George caught a 31 inch walleye (picture on left) and for a number of years, that was the largest walleye caught from Duck Bay.  Some things never change and George's happy smile and success catching fish are two of them!

When we first started at Duck Bay, Dave was learning to carve (and totally butchering) a turkey.  George came into the lodge and noticed what Dave was doing.  Sometime later George returned to find Dave still hacking away.  He will never forget George's words "you done yet?"  George, Dave has now carved approximately 450 chickens and turkeys and he is starting to get much better at it.
 

If you are considering a May or June fishing trip, below is what is still available.  As you can see, space is very limited.  A greater selection of dates are available for July, August or September.

- 2 cabins available anytime from May 22nd - 28th

- 1 cabin only available anytime from May 22nd - 31st (this is the "couples cabin" with queen bed and fireplace)

- June 8th - 13th (1 cabin only)

- anytime from June 29th on through July
