Do you use a CPAP?

CPAP fun!
If you've stayed with us before, you're aware that we shut down our generators at 11 p.m.

Those who normally use a CPAP machine for sleep apnea may wonder how we handle this.

Our winter "vacation"

One of the most asked questions of our guests is "what do you do all winter"? Actually, there is never a dull moment around here.  In addition to the sports shows, here are a few things we're currently working on...

Metal roofs Menards
Over the last few years, most of the buildings at Duck Bay have had the roofs replaced with metal.  There are still a few buildings left to go and they will be done in 2014.  Menard's supply our roofing materials and we're currently exchanging drawings, discussing the quote, and working out the logistics of getting all the materials to Duck Bay in the spring.

Staffing
While we're fortunate to have a lot of long-time employees, we always need a couple of folks to replace those that won't be returning.  We're busy recruiting, checking references and finding the best possible people to make your vacation the best ever.

Bobcat repairs
Unfortunately,  our Bobcat suffered a complete engine failure this winter.  A replacement engine is in the process of being installed.  In the spring it will be brought back to the island by barge.

In addition, we're building new windows for the sunroom in the lodge, making new cushions for the sunroom furniture and converting (and, the hard part, learning!) a new reservation software program.  A few boats are being re-carpeted and clothing bought and embroidered for the store;  there is a great new line of clothing we're excited about.

That all said, we do manage to enjoy some fun in the sun when we're in Arizona!
