Rod and reel rental program

Time is precious, and there never seems to be enough of it.
To maximize their vacations, a number of our guests fly.

It can be inconvenient, and expensive, to check your fishing rods.  Click here to read more about our new rod and reel rental program.

Eagerly awaiting spring...

colorful-tulip-field.jpg
Up north, it doesn't quite look like this yet, but we are very excited for spring to arrive. In the next two newsletters we'll introduce you to our new staff members.  Below, meet Mitchell
(and his blue marlin);  he'll be taking care of you on the dock.

If you are starting to think spring, don't hesitate to email or call if we can help you plan your fishing trip.  Duck Bay will open for the season on May 21st and close on September 27th.  There are still a few May and June dates available with a greater selection of dates throughout July, August and September.  Look forward to seeing you!

Meet Mitchell...

I am currently enrolled in my first year of studies at the University of Manitoba in the Faculty of Science.  I aspire to become a doctor specializing in anesthesiology or sports and exercise medicine.

I live with my family in Manitoba, just northeast of Winnipeg.  When not in school or working, my hobbies include mostly outdoor activities.   Favorite among them are snowboarding, hunting, fishing, and hockey.  I have been fishing since I was a young boy and hunting since the age of 13.

In 2012, I shot my first whitetail buck, an impressive 11-points that scored 142

non-typical.  I love to fish, and I have been fishing all around Manitoba and north-eastern Ontario.  Fishing for catfish on the Red River and walleyes on Lake of the Woods however, remain among some of my best experiences fishing.

I've also had the chance to catch a 6 foot blue marlin off the Mayan Riviera coast of Mexico.  All in all, I love spending time in the outdoors and can't wait to begin an excellent summer with the team at Duck Bay Lodge!
