Last month Sheree shared some of her memories of 25 years.  Below Dave shares a few of his.

Dave's memories of 25 years...

A couple of days ago Sheree asked me to write some of my favorite memories of Duck Bay.  All of them revolve around the people that have been at our resort.  Like Rick says on Pawn Stars "you never know what'll come through the door next!"

Years back we had a guide named Kevin, and some of you will remember him.  One day he guided a professional guide from Wisconsin, and they really hit it off.  A few days later Kevin was about to guide a different party when they were approached by the Wisconsin guide.  He inquired if Kevin was going to be their guide, the new group replied yes, and the new party was told what a great guide Kevin was. They were also asked if they knew about Kevin's handicap, which they did not.  They were then informed of Kevin's "apparent handicap" (lack of hearing) and told Kevin would not mind if they shouted at him.  They could also tap him on the side of the head with their rod tip if he wasn't facing directly towards them so they could get his attention. They politely thanked the guest for his comments about Kevin and made their way to the dock.  It goes without saying that after an hour of being yelled at, and hit on the side of the head with a fishing rod, Kevin lost it.  To this day I believe this was the ultimate guide prank!

Over the years it has been an honor to see our guests' children grow up, and now many of them are bringing their own children to our resort.  I take this as the highest compliment we could receive as a business.  I'm thankful for all the great times I've shared with all of our guests.

It has also been a great privilege to have worked with our staff.  They are from all walks of life, from high school kids to retirees and I consider all of them members of our extended family.  I am always pleased that many of them stay in touch with us years later.  These are the thoughts that will be with me forever.
