Jill's 50 1/2 inch muskie

Another fishing season has come and gone!  2012 was my first season guiding at Duck Bay Lodge and I had a great summer.  Lake of the Woods and Sabaskong Bay is a big body of water to learn, but I had a lot of help from Dan, Bill, Stefan and Dave.  Thanks so much for your input and knowledge.  I would also like to thank the long-time guests who also helped me out and pointed me in the right direction.  I'm looking forward to seeing you all next summer.  My goals next year are to keep exploring and to learn new areas to fish, as well as to improve on last year's big fish.

On a personal note, I recently got married to my beautiful wife Jillian, who I also guided to her personal best muskie of 50.5 inches this fall (see photo above).

I wish you all the best in the New Year and remember to think BIG for next year at Duck Bay Lodge.

How we relax at the end of the season...

Pacific Coast Highway

We've just returned home from a two week road trip that started in Duluth, MN and went all the way to California.

In California we visited some parts we've long been meaning to explore, mainly the wine country in Napa and Sonoma.  Here we traveled through mile after mile of vineyards, the rolling hills of farm country and up into the redwood forests.  And did we mention the GREAT wine tastings??

Next we drove the fabulously scenic Pacific Coast Highway from San Francisco to Los Angeles.  It is considered one of the top 10 scenic drives in America.  We ended the trip in Carlsbad where we spent a few days relaxing right on the ocean.

One highlight of the trip was staying in charming bed & breakfasts where we met great folks from all over the United States.  It reminded us of Duck Bay where all the guests get to meet each other and enjoy the camaraderie of a shared interest in the great outdoors!
